The wet reflections on the road are not working in the dark. It seems they are only "produced" by the sunlight and not by headlights.

BTW: The gamma changes from B982 have messed up the headlight intensity, they are little bit weak now.

Most track builders forget to add the light glow to the environment reflection mapper. However, the reflections are very weak. The only shader I know of, that can produce decent results, is "high luminance sun" (thanks Mario Morais :D ).
...and yes, night racing in rF2 looks way to dark and boring (the same goes for sunset/sunrise atm). It's a bit of a waste of resources if you create a hdr gfx engine, that works internally with realistic light luminosity's and you don't make any use of it. A simple bloom effect before re-normalization in the tone mapper would do wonders.

In the build before the lights were OK at night, that's why I thought the gamma changes might have something to do with it.

Is this a picture with correctly configured reflection mapper? The head and rear lights of your car seems not to be reflected on the ground?

Gamma change actually made things less dark, it's more related to the use of this new HDR tonemapper. With old tonemapper daytime was bad, night was excellent, now it's the other way around.

The reflection of the car on the road has never worked correctly. The lod switching doesn't work, sometimes it reflects the collision mesh (which is set to no render in the gen file) and head/rear lights seem to be ignored by the reflection mapper.
I have the best results with cars where you can disable the lods in tuning menu (Some1's NSX and C6). Maybe you can get a reflection of the lights when you change the material for light glow to high luminance sun. It works at least for track lights.
