@jefcam I also started making this widget, but couldn't find properties for best sectors other than personal best. Another problem I faced with SimHub is periodic stuttering in retrieving data. For such widgets like WGL, DeltaBest, RPM smooth working is crucial, so unfortunatelly SimHub cannot replace TrackMap.
Seems like you're playing need for speed. Definitely we need a better relative time to know exactly the cars ahead and behind us on the track. But the rest.. This make much more sense for a sim....
Hopefully will have soon the leader-board with relative gaps we had in track map plugin. Great SIMHUB and thanks to 'Wotever' for development. Just pay a small donation for the software and you'll have back the hud like trackmap plugin. http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/simhub-diy-sim-racing-dash.10252/ Also thanks to FinesseSteeze for his work on widgets similar to the ones we had in track map plugin.

This trackmap issue is the biggest factor for me with rf2. I am almost certainly not going to be switching HUDs, there are a variety of reasons for that but they are not important right now. The irony is I only just started racing rf2 again a bit after a long break, but if trackmap is discontinued I will have to stop racing rf2 for good, that's basically what it means to me. I'm running dx9 ver at present. I believe the dx9 trackmap source is available, it's quite likely porting it from dx9 to dx11 is fairly straightforward, although I could be wrong about that, would be nice if S397 should think about porting it over themselves. Or, if possible, maintain the dx9 option in the betas list, that would be perfect I am happy to keep on running dx9. I understand that is not going to happen though.
Crew chief is the best alternative. You won't have the visual aspect, but it just tells you verbally how much fuel you have left. Which is,probably the only thing I ever used in track map
Crew Chief can tell you gaps, temperatures, times, wear, estimates, opponent info etc etc etc. If there's something missing that you'd like to be added, you could sugest it on a CC thread, and we might add it. Many CC features are not that easy to discover, so it is possible that what you need is there already. But I am here not to promote CC really. We all have different preferences of how we'd like info to be communicated. I value immersion and realism most of all, and until F1 drivers don't get helmets like fighter jet pilots, where all info is printed on a helmet glass - radio + LCD on a steering wheel is how info is communicated IRL. So I personally prefer it and that's why I went out and added CC to rF2. I think S397 clearly indicated that UI improvements are a priority, so we will for sure see many of TM features in the core game. The rest would be possible to add via new plugin model for UI stuff. Also, sounds like Simhub stuff works pretty well.
CC is bad for me because I normally race with friends (My teammates) in Team Speak, so, it may be confuse
2 bits of info is all I need. 1: If I'm behind someone, go faster. 2: If someone is behind me, go faster.
My main requirement in a HUD is a good tacho so I can see the revs and have help deciding on my gear shift points. I need it to also be draggable so I can move it to just over the top of my wheel. Often with my FOV I can't see the car's tacho at all. Can anyone tell me what options I have at the moment? I see the new default HUD has some info like this but it is right at the bottom of the screen and gets hidden by my wheel. Is it possible to edit it so I can bring it higher? Also, what is this simhub people are talking about?
I think SimHub is about your only choice for now. https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/simhub-diy-sim-racing-dash.10252/ Edit, yes it is possible to edit the rF2 HUD to move it around but trust me, it's easier to get SimHub.
