We are orphans

Here comes the logical end of the unfinished game...........

I don't think anyone will argue with anything you said, nothing that has not been said 1,000 times before ?
But you types always dodge the elephant in the room ?

It drives better then anything out there ( imho ) which just shows me how far behind the rest are, like decades........... imho.

ISI was a philosophy to make a better driving sim which it did in spades.

"rF2" consumer since day one, but let's not overdo it with the compliments because people might get confused...:)

Well sorry for anyone out there (imho) it is simple
When you drill down into the rest of the engines as " driving simulations " they are very very ordinary.

All the canned puddles, pit crews and pomp will never ever make up for it.

according to the interview with the MSG president, there are still plans for rF2. HOWEVER....those plans are definitely on HOLD until LMU becomes fully functional. Best guess (as noted by Marcel in an older thread) will be next year (2025) before any real investment occurs again for rF2.
@Bernat I assume he is feeling ignored by S397 as they focus completely on LMU.
Bwoah. That's gonna be a while.

After all we are not orphans yet.

lol ;)

Peeps could run DLC offline were still orphans :p

Like I mention Wukong in another thread.
After 3 days 10million sales @ $50 ....... and they don't even have to sell you drinks or popcorn.
Imagine what Gjon could have done with that :D

LMU people expect training hot laps championship career.
Wouldn't that be basically a total recode ? ( I know nothing of engines )
So I keep wondering, who is going to pay for all this ?

For the last few months I have been exclusively driving in AMS2, really taking the time to tweak the FFB. I have had a great time running custom championships, the real weather system is awesome.

Then two days ago I fired up RF2, using the BTCC on the uk tracks. The first thing that impressed me is how nice everything looked, RF2 often gets flak for being graphically outdated, but it really isn't. With the exception of the clouds the sim looks great especially in certain lighting conditions.

Then came the driving! This sim feels fantastic, I was smiling lap after lap. I then changed to the touring car classics mod.
The level of detail in these cars are mind blowing, how a mod can be of this quality, really does begger belief. The interiors are better than anything Studio397 have produced or Reiza for that matter, and this is a free mod! The cars drive great the AI behave well, at least on the official UK tracks that I drove on.

My point is, RF2 is still fantastic, we have enough content to last a lifetime and it really does drive better than anything else out there.

I would love for RF2 to get the level of development that AMS2 or LMU gets, but even if it never receives another update it still has many years of enjoyment to offer.

We may be Orphans, but our dead parents built us a strong home.

Speaking about historic I could die happy if I had "screamers" :D
Like Eve F3 but with the improved cornering mainly from the rims & rubber ( lower / fatter )
Look how early he lets off wheel in turns and nursing every 100 rpm on straights.
That guttural sound

rF2 = LMU = rF3

Not cool for mine and I am ISIMotor fanboy.

Been enough flak as it is for ISI reworking ISIMotor2.0 warts and all.

Numerous issues and features require new base engine imho.

The guy that built your engine was a genius, ahead of his time and revolutionized simming.

Who at S397 is going to do it ?

What does this mean when you say it left us? Is rfactor ending?

Once upon a time some clever guys made a company called ISI
One of them Gjon developed vehicle simulators for military training.
So he made ISIMotor that went on to power many sims
SCGT, F12000, 2001, 2002, F1Challenge, GTL GTR GTR2, Arca Racing, Race'07

Seems they could not make a decent living from licenses so they built their own sim rFactor with all new ISIMotor2.0.
My clearest memory is simmers ( community) labelling them a cartoon because of the graphics, that never changed :(
So they produced rFactor2 and ISIMotor2.5 trying to just get ahead I guess as they watched other studios had used
their engine become successful.

Eventually negative reviews and community pushed ISI into getting out of sims.
If the community had supported them as well as other studios we would not be having this conversation.
ISI and Gjon would have most likely gone on to develop ISIMotor3.0 and rFactor3 years ago.
