Only a small update, just new loaders - and to synchronize with the current Steam version: V2.02 - New loaders for the new UI schema - Version for Steam Download V2.02
Would be great to put these (all [Virtua_LM] tracks) in the Launcher Remote Content so all the non-Steam users can quickly/easily see the update. Or for those few living in a cave, get these amazing tracks for the first time!
bless the VLM guys for their fantastic work, I've got well over a thousand miles on this track & it stills kicks my ass, but nary a single update since 2015 (except for the Steam stuff). the S397 version is laser scanned, beautifully rendered & most likely to be updated regularly.
But not everyone wants to pay for the track, there should be free alternative (i.e. just to race a few laps ). Fortunatel it's still available to download outside of the Workshop. But I wonder if it was taken down by S397
True, not everyone can afford/want to pay for a track. "Unfortunately" most do, so once a superior official mod is out, those that can afford it are put off by the idea of racing on an old 3rd party mod so you won't get them to participate, they want to enjoy the latest and greatest that they bought. Really appreciate this mod, really good work and has served the rF2 community well all these years. Unfortunately it will hardly see any use any more, plus it's been left behind in terms of development and updates and they are extremely unlikely to put any time into it now.
That's how rumors get spread. One guy makes an assumtion that it was evil S397 taking down the VLM sebring from Steam workshop, but at the end nobody knows what really happened except for the uploader, so until Monsum makes an appearance to state what has really happened, I would be careful to believe anything written by 3rd parties. If you take a look at the simroad website, you will notice that it hasn't been updated for several years now, so it is pretty safe to say that Monsum or anybody involved working on VLM tracks went silent. The download to the VLM tracks is linked here in the thread wich is perfectly fine.
