[Virtua_LM] Official tracks' topic (last update: 06-14-2014)

As I said, MonSum is still working maybe and it seems confirmed by Coutie and Mauro :)

I will speak only for VLM JT, because VLM Senior Team and GTx5 was not my work
For the GTPC, VLM JT allowed for the conversion because all teammates (and me too) have other project outside of modding.

Personally, I think that the modding is in the phase of decline even if I believe all members of simracing community can make a great work however only togheter.
Even someone who don't have any skills for the modding can help. For example, I can do 3D models, 3D mapping, integration and even physics, but I don't have in my archive enough technical data to do a top model ;)

Hope the tracks get updated to DX11! Why don't VLM give Studio 397 permission to continue working on the tracks?

Because Studio397 would require the official licenses to do so and that's just one hurdle to get over.

There are many CAPABLE users here that have DX11 experience in regard to converting pre-DX11 tracks. We don't need S397 to get further distracted by updating 3rd party tracks, both in the time outlay that would take away from other projects AND, as MarcG stated, S397 would have to license everything VLM put in the track as merely non-profit mod makers.
 
Sebring is going to be laser scanned, so the VLM's version is going to get pointless.

But the other tracks need to fall in the right hands, because they are awesome!

There's a separate group of modders working on Watkins Glen. There's no individual thread about it yet but they recently posted some pics on the Screenshots thread and looks awesome and very close to release. Happy hunting, should be easy to find ;)

If you mean the screenshot thread on this forum, then it's not VLM Watkins glen, it's LilSki's AC conversion.

Yeah, I know. That's why I said a separate group of modders. I know this tread is about VLM tracks but was pointing out there's another Watkins Glen coming soon.
