Very informative about a complicated task, thank you. I have succeded making a multiplayer entry, and I can see the entry in the multiplayer list, I can join the race and continue to the track and pres race. I join the track but after about 30 seconds I get the message: "Connection lost" and Rfactor2 stops running. Any sugestions about what can bee the reason? If anyone can check the game name is: Sondersokarting Track: Gokartfyn Thanks for any help
hard to say. might be the connection speed or the router isn't fully configured but I it doesn't appear to be the router if you are able to connect. can you make sure the server is up to date and also check the data rate as shown in the server window
Thanks. What connection speed shall I set, I know my connection, but what shall I choose, ISDN, or what? My speed is 300/60 Mbit/s (3oo down and 60 up)
Just leave it at the defaults I would say. Mine is 25-30 up and down, the router setup I use reduces the rate for some reason, I've yet to figure out why however it seems to function ok so what you have there should be more than enough for sure.
Not sure. I looked for "Sondersokarting" just now and couldn't find it. If you put it live sometime tomorrow I can try to connect to it perhaps
It says there was an error trying to install the mod. Can you please delete the package you created and then try creating it again?
To begin with it seems to be having trouble serving the content required to join the game. So as I suggested try and recreate the mod package again and then create another server. You can delete the old package or just create a new one using a new name and then ping here with the server is back up again using the new package
I just had a look, I don't have the track or vehicle (the mod doesn't say anything about Gokartfyn as the track either), if you want clients to be able to download the track and vehicles, close the server and then put the track and vehicle rfcmp's in the server's packages folder. Also before you restart the server go to the server's userdata/player folder and edit the multiplayer.json file, look for this line and change to true
I can only assume that the package was not properly created? I've been able to create server packages and have the content served without modifying the multiplayer JSON file - or at least I assumed stock settings would be sufficient. @Normark Is the Karting content this one https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=922034231 and what it the circuit? And can you try creating a basic server first using for example the content I included in the video so that you are able to get a server up and running and if you can get a server up and running correctly and another player can join then perhaps look at adding your own content.
I´m realy strugling with this launch process, the connection between RFCMP, RFMOD, MFT files. and the names for the game, track, mod etc. I think I will have to go back to school and read a lot about the connections between the files.
Yes the karting content is the mod you point to. The track is a scratchmade track, but fully function. As mentioned I will try get the logic connection between the different files that goes into creating a mod file, I think it is there my brain starts to hurt.
