Hi,

While the track loading improved quite a lot. I still having a very long loading when i start rf2.
The rf2 logo in the small white box stays up for easily 2 minutes before going to the main menu?

Any tricks or fixes to load it faster?

Kind regards,
Nicky

@juanchioooo i'm pretty sure it has nothing to with my computer ;)
specs:
MSI MB Z370 M5
i7 8700
32GB ram
MSI RTX 2080ti
SAMSUNG SSD 860 EVO 1TB M.2, KINGSTON A400 480 GB X2
well it is a solution, it is 5 times faster loading, but it is also true that it does not solve the problems of custom skins;)

PD.-I apologize if the answer seemed insulting

Can't do anything atm, it's caused by S397's realtime physics logger initialising.
As far as my (occasionally useful but rarely dependable) grey matter tells me ,real time logging has no bearing on game loading time from Launcher through to sitting in car in the garage.
I tested this by starting and then closing rF2 after the game had loaded and was ready to use. I checked the Log folder and no Logging file was written.
I then started rF2 and this time I loaded a car and track and drove for a few seconds then exited the game and this time a Logging file was written.
I think that easy and quick test proves logging has no bearing on loading times.
I think if anything it would affect the time taken from leaving a track or using esc to pits to being at the next menu/options screen, even more if replays are being saved.

This statement is my outlook and not aimed at Mangoletsi, think of it as a "thought for the day".
If I'm wrong I don't mind. If I'm told why I was wrong I'm happy because I learnt something new.

You can't turn off the real time logging, it's still running even if the option is either on 0 or 1 in the player json file.

I'm aware of that, but that also means everyone should be having long load times. They aren't. I'm guessing you might be, since you've assumed the logging is at fault, so you should probably try the same remedy.

"Correlation doesn't imply causation"

I don't have the rcd problem, I know my delays are related to the logging. I monitor the forum and know its there for S397 to collect data for bug fixing.
If you have also noticed, they have also added the logging to the dedicated server, for the same reasons.

How do you know the logging is causing your delays, when you can't turn it off to test?

I have noticed that my loading time has increased a lot recently. So, looked for rcd files on my PC and it reports finding only three! As I have never deleted any before, is this normal?

Yeah, I have hardly any too (correction: zero!). I'm not even sure what circumstances they get downloaded in :D

Could be something else, not sure if it's just the current build(s) or something more specific that might be affecting you.

I'll wait until they release the UI build before I start to look any further. It has definitely slowed recently and I use a SSD, so notice it now.

I eliminated the shaders, Cbash, Result and replays, I also eliminated json players, restart rfactor and improved, the first time it takes to make new shaders when entering the circuit, but then it was much faster
