Was wondering about something the other day. Within the vehicle skin template, there are often layers that are used to create static surface shadows giving definition to the skins surface. How are the surface shadow template layers created. Are the any tutorials explaining how to create the template shadow or shading layers? Appreciate some pointers. Cheers
I use the render to target function in 3DS Max (with a car paint in white) to do the shadows for a template.
Batch bake ambient occlusion to texture. There are tons of tutorials on youtube for Max, Blender, Maya, .... You can also bake ambient occlusion to a plane for the undertray shadows for the car body and for the wheels.
