I did a stupid thing and commanded .vcr files to open with notepad. Now all replays refuse to load and I can't see how to fix it. Any help would be appreciated.

    I'm not sure I understand.

The windows association with .vcr shouldn't matter - there isn't any external program to open them. You only load replays inside rF2. (you can't double click a replay file to open it in rF2)

If your replays aren't working in rF2, it's probably unrelated.

Do you have some Experience with editing the Windows Registry?
If yes, you can do it in this Way.
Open the Registry Editor and go to the Entry
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.vcr
    Delete the whole Folder .vcr

If that won't work, also check the Pathes
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\.vcr
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Classes\.vcr
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.vcr
and if they exist, delete them too.

Thanks for the replies. I now think it was just a problem with a particular replay download through MediaFire. Sorry to have panicked and wasted your time.
