Another new car is coming to rFactor 2 - the amazing Vanwall Vandervell LMH!

WTF ! that is unexpected.(in a good way).

"Vanwall Vandervell reached out to Studio 397 " usually this is other way round , love it when teams and manufacturer show love to sim racing.

 

@Paul Jeffrey Does this have a hybrid power train?

The car runs with a non-hybrid Gibson V8.

 

The only question I ask myself is in the future (short term), how many hypercars are we going to have ?

 

Surprised? You betcha. I've been reading of the struggles/roadblocks they have been facing trying to get this car in a race. Perhaps the Glick as a stable mate???

I guess that they saw (and heard from Tom Dillmann) about how the ByKolles was represented in rF2

 

nobody knows the future yet so time will tell

What sense does it make to model a Hybrid car without MGU K? I dont think Hybrid is a good solution or it's necessary for life of simracing just asking.

 

because this car has gibson v8, not a hybrid.

As a 2 minute Google expert on this topic, let me clarify: the LMH regulations restrict cars to 671 hp. This racecar therefore only has the V8 engine.

Their street version, labelled the 1000, is expected to have 1000 hp with a hybrid drivetrain. It'll also weigh 1000kg thanks to the lack of ballast requirement for road use.

 

Heck that Ferrari Red car everyone is drooling over only has a V6. The times, they are a -changin'
