I can only speak for myself but I am sure many others are running a steering wheel and/or external dash which at least partially obstructs the bottom middle of their screen/screens. Knowing that the UI is in development, I think it would be a great improvement if all buttons/selections were positioned AWAY from the bottom of the screen. You could put them at the top, across the middle, down the sides, anywhere but bottom mid pretty please. What do you guys reckon?
