Hi, Recently, I realized that some non ISI content was also available in the remote content section. Today after seeing a recently uploaded third party track, I have seen that there is a third tab after "remote content" called "publish content" which has been invisible for me up to today. The rest is quite predictable I guess I have tried to publish our most recent track and voilà! in a couple lf minutes it was in the top of the list. This is simply great! All the content downloadable with one click and new releases in the top of the list! However! ISI hasn't said a word about this.???? At least I didn't read it and accordingly to the number of uploaded components most people are unaware of this. I think this feature will be of great help for casual racing. People should have much less trouble finding required content. No excuses for not using the download URL any more. You can edit it in the launcher! Why is this feature kept in secrecy?
I still find it funny remembering back the outrage about the new system, you who signed the petition know who you are. lol Nigh on 4 years back I said " Greatest thing since sliced bread " or " wot's a mismatch ? " hehehee However like I suggested back then imo ISI should control what goes up, no permissions, cross-over conversions etc. They need to clean it up a little too, a few old versions of tracks are there even though you uncheck old versions.
946 actually. I just checked. How come nobody is using it? Enviado desde mi SM-G130HN mediante Tapatalk
Yes, I thought it was an earlier build but I knew it's been around for the last several..If I had anything to contribute I would be using it..
You really have to say .............. " Suck on this Kunos/ SMS " Like Kuno fames is 100's of unfeeling dataless rips. SMS fame building a unmoddable sim is moddable. oh dear I tried to stir certain modder's Duc's enthusiasm for rF2 with jGED .......but they won't budge from that bloody Assetto Corsa. Keep throwing up excuses. I see 10,000 download one of Duc's /Rainmaker tracks and like a few dozen people said thanks, spoiled silly. in rF2 you make a track 90 out of a 100 in this forum would, just look at bathurst response you need proof. hehehe
After 6 months 6 tracks have been only uploaded. What's going on here???? Why so many recent releases like today's Adelaide (just an example) are not uploaded? I just can't see it. ¿?¿?¿? I would think that seeing one's track at the top of the list full of ISI content is something to feel proud about. It seems not
I think they should now great work on thread I never knew v0.96 Like people been pushing me and others 3 years to get getmod to work. Should not need it this way ? certainly looks less complicated ? and use Get Mod for just that, rfm's Maybe add a ISI only filter in drop down menu ( including supported 3rd party ) P.S. That is a great feature anyway, people say rF2 is dear, but that is worth a extra 10 bucks at any price imo. What about jGED ? how much is that worth to modders and the peeps like me wait for content ...... Priceless lol Suddenly rF2 is not dear at all......... never has been.
If you use multi packages folders in Local Content select the folder you want the download to first. Another reason I like it, GetMod uses default packages.
Not clear whether "illegal" content will be allowed. There's probably only half a dozen tracks out there (yours for example) that are not technically illegal.
Thanks Tim FSR or someone has posted v1.1 mod but uploaded it winrar, not sure it works, d/l failed @ 50% or so, I assumed because it must read package info. ?
Will there be some kind of content removing system? What looks a bit dangerous about the remote content uploading system is the lack of control: - incorrect URL or file format as the just reported case. - Future dead links. Links that work today may not work in the future. - Apparently anyone could upload content without verifying if he is the author of that content or not. - non authorised / illegal conversions Maybe some content reporting button could be implemented. Repetitive inappropriate uploads or "false reportings" shuld be punished. I really think ISI should set some play rules for uploading stuff to remote content and publish them within the forum. I really think this important feature deserved its own thread and not just a line within the release notes. This rules could be included as well in the publish content tab so that everybody that uses it is forced to read and accept. Enviado desde mi GT-I9505 mediante Tapatalk
I dunno I got bagged for my idea 3 years ago ......... I said back then i would like ISI approves all uploads. They could let a group of trusted people handle it, email them link to packages and they would be up next day or week. Now for any packages did not meet criteria what does it matter ? nothing would change ? People have their delivery methods working for Get Mod for years ? So if you wanted it added to Remote List it would have to be verified, tested and approved. BUT ........ALL content, whether approved , unapproved, rips or official ISI could still be added with old delivery systems. Some Leagues would want to keep all their stuff private they would not apply for Remote listing and do older ways too. At least you would know with confidence what you download.
The upload to remote content has been available for 6 months. For me it is not the same the download URL feature to this. Despite it works the same way, it is not the same that someone is putting illegal content to be downloadable from his server that ISI offers it front page in the launcher. The latter one deserves more control IMO whereas I wouldn't do anything to limit regular downloads from the URL feature where downloads are through the server and can be pass protected for example.
