NEED INFO Unstable 589

We've had a report on the internal side of
Dedicated server would crash on launch until I uninstalled all previous vmods ("rf2 has stopped working")

Please let us know if any of you see this.
 
Clicked the Tick and Get Mod flashed up to download the Tracks (Megane server), when that was done I netered the sever just fine. Exited and stayed in the lobby until the servers refreshed and the Join button worked and back into the server. Quit completley out the game, came back in and the Join button lit up as expected for the server.

I too had greyed out join button,didn't have that with 573.
I joined once,left but could not get back in.
After several refreshes and some waiting it would appear but another refresh and greyed out again.
not sure of server name but it was a 'test 589 megane mix' or something like that?
one other 589 was always greyed out.
alt/tab was ok for me and no stutters here also.
ATI HD6970,everything maxed except shadows and maybe 1 or 2 other things lowered 50-70 avg fps at Silverstone,supersampling,can get exact setup specs if needed.

updated 494 to 573 then 573 to 589 just by installing over the top,573 I had no problems with a greyed join button.

573 getmod worked perfectly,I even alt/tab out while it was downloading and when I went back in it was all installed and at the car choice.

1. I haven't had such problem. I Installed B589 just above B573. I had all ISI cars and traks installed plus a couple of custom modes.

2. Like in B573 small issue with grey "JOIN" button still exist: after playing and quitting Megan test mode the button was gray, but clicking any other mode and returning back to Megan solve the issue (the button is active again). So I don't consider it a problem.

3. I don't have saved skins of Megan, however I was able to change available skins and checked that I could see those durring the race, so skins changing works for me.

4. I have nVidia card and the latest drivers installed so I didn't face the crushing after changing the car.

updated over last unstable 573 and all worked out ok - could use Get Mod on Megane and Skippy Server and had neither of those installed - could join both servers after downloading directly ingame without problem.
 
If it is of any use I can report that I had countless hours of fun on my own set up server with realkman666... 6 hours really... No problems at all... We left and joined, smoohtly... changed cars in-server in practice...

The first two times I launced rF2 multiplayer though, I couldn't reach the MM server, the list just didn't appear, and I couldn't refresh... It just didn't respond I think it said... third restart it worked as usual...

No app-crashes, no nothing... We ran 8-10 AI's, URD EGT (five cars) and 7 different tracks, ISI and non-ISI. No spaces, no nothing... Of course I don't have get-mod set up, we share vmods and components with links.


@John - you were missed ;)
 
Build 589 installed on our dedicated server, no issues here so far, except getmod.

Still not working for us, same as with 494 and 573. But this is maybe because of missing documentation for vmod/rfmod. Well, with searching the forum for a couple of hours, we could get some informations in different threads, but i can`t spend so much time to go through all this postings. We link into the rfcmp files to our download section (with snipurl), manual download works fine, getmod not.

Fixed an issue with duplicate mas names during packaging; incorporated mutex stuff into masBase to allow toggling of mutex requirement during mas object creation.
Fix for issue where a vehicle is constantly loaded/unloaded in multiplayer when they have a special skin.

UI / HUD / Options:

Added a button to manually transfer loose livery file, so that you may update the server's copy or get the latest version of the livery stored on the server.
Disabled Mod button if server and client version do not match.


MULTIPLAYER:

Fixed +oneclick crash.
Fixed join button greyed out issue.
Message box shown if dedicated server is stated with oneclick but no mod is loaded.

Great work ISI, I am looking forward to public release.

I am not sure what your problem is exactly. Is it with GetMod failing to download the vmod or GetMod failing to download missing components? From your screenshot it looks like your problems are related to getting missing components. rF2 only supports so many redirects. I am not sure if your use of sn.im will work. Have you considered just using my GetMod service to register your components? It is WAY easier to deal with because you end up with a common URL for all your components and then on my site you dictate the download URL for the component. You can even have multiple URLs so you can host your components in several locations and it will randomly rotate the URLs so you distribute the load.

There isn't a lot of documentation. I need to write up some new documentation one of these days. For now the best thread to read is this one:

I am also working on a tool that will list all your installed packages and give you the ability to automatically repack a component with your own URL and then if you want you can click a button to register the cmp on my service and when clicking that it will prompt you for the download URL you want to use. Right now it is a pain to use my service because you have to cut and paste the cmp name, then cut and paste the sig, then cut and paste the download URLs. It is a lot of cutting and pasting if you're registering 10 components at once. It will be nice to cut this process down to a single click and then a single paste for the URL. I hope to have this finished today.

Still not able to join because of greyed out join button,refreshing and waiting no help.
Joined the other day and was ok but last 2 days no go.

You are trying to connect to the same build server right?
Got screenshots to prove? Not that I think you're lying of course but if ISI delay a build because people were trying the wrong server.... :-)
 
test589 meganemix and SB2000

deleted previous mod and tried again,no joy.
reinstalled 589 over the top again,tick button lit up after a few refreshes.
will try to join tonight when I have time.

I think my build may be botched though... I am going to do a fresh install and try again.

Edit: Okay, I did a fresh install in a new location with zero content and I only get a join button on the IsR servers. I went down the whole list of 589 servers.

Edit2: Hit refresh and now only one of the IsR servers has a join button. Seems we took a step back on this build.

Edit3: Now all the IsR servers have a join button. I didn't even restart or refresh. We are back to total randomness I guess. :(

BTW, the HTTP server is responding on all but 2 of the servers on my list above and that is "! BLAZEMOTORSPORT.EU #01" and "UnitedSimRacers".

Edit4: All servers now have a join buttons with the exception of the two with hung HTTP (or blocked ports) servers. I didn't refresh or restart rF2. I am just minimizing it and checking back in ever minute or so.

I can join to our server without problems. On both sides (server/client) fresh install of Build 589.
 
Huh... I have never had any problems with join button with this build. I just tried again, and all IsR servers work for me.. Then I read Noel's post about all servers running B589 and was going to try a few of them. First I tried UnitedSimRacers, and for the first time I had a greyed out join button.

The strange thing is that after I had clicked on the UnitedSimRacers server, the IsR servers didn't work anymore! But when clicking on them a few times they started to work again.
It's like the join button stops working for all servers when you have clicked on a server that you can't join. The UnitedSimRacers is the only server I could never join, so I guess there's something wrong with the get mod function
