This is why changes are bad for me.
Before S397 I used to run offline in a online server.
1. You could alter anything
2. Sim never paused
3. You could change cars and skins in garage.
4. You could start room with 10 GT3, drive them multiple times all and have all lap times retained !
5. List goes on and on
Many benefits but yet gain another thing I discovered left field ( not even Tim at ISI knew you could it ) was just something else everyone thought I was mad for .![]()
Oh nice thanks for the help I will give it a try!@Trebor901 It's just another broken Dropdown in the Menu (Screenshot).
You normally could set 1-4 Sessions there, but now you can only switch it on or off.
But you have the Entries
"CHAMP Num Race Sessions":1,
"CURNT Num Race Sessions":1,
"GPRIX Num Race Sessions":1,
"MULTI Num Race Sessions":1,
"RPLAY Num Race Sessions":1,
in the player.JSON File, where you still can set it.
For Single Player you only have to edit the Line
"GPRIX Num Race Sessions":1,
but to be save, change all Lines.
The Range of Numbers that can be used is 1-4.
When you do that (do it when the Game is not running), the Number that you have set there, appears in the Menu (Screenshot).
DON'T try to change it there!!!!
If you try it, you again can only set on or off (1/0) and you have to close the Game and edit the player.JSON again.
It seems as if they use the Range (0,1) instead of (0,1,2,3,4) for that Dropdown by mistake.

So i edited the player.json file like you said and save it with the game closed but as soon as i run the game it reverts back to 1 rather than 3@Trebor901 It's just another broken Dropdown in the Menu (Screenshot).

Yes i have never had this memory issue before, doing a search here in the forums its apparently linked to virtual memory but i cant see that having more than one race session would consume anymore memory. Also havent changed any settings since playing last night with 1 race. That sounds a bit or better said very strange.
Do you run the Game as an Administrator?
If not, try it out.
If you edit and save the File while the Game is not running and start it then, it should work like it works for me.
It seems to have corrupted something within my userdata folder as now wont even launch just goes not responding when the big rf2 logo comes up prior to it going full screen....Do it again and ensure that rFactor 2 is really not running when you edit and save the edited player.JSON.
Use the Taskmanager to check it.
I think it was because i left the player.json open when i opened the game, fixed it now and also the memory issue seems to have been down to disk space. Moved the game to my bigger ssd and its all now working with the 3 races per weekend as it should.Close the Game, rename the UserData Folder into UserData_Backup for Example, to keep it as a Backup, then start the Game, that you get a fresh UserData Folder and check if that works.
Maybe you did something wrong when you edited the player.JSON.
That can easily happen.
Yes I have no idea what corrupted it but I deleted the player.json let the game create a new one, copied and pasted all my settings from the corrup one into the new and it is all good now.OK
It can be, that, if you leave the player.JSON open in an Editor, that the Game can not modify it.
But that should not be a Problem normally.
It only means that Settings, that you did make in the Menus and other Things, like if you use a different Car... can not be saved in the player.JSON when the Game gets closed.
But it should not have the described Effect.
