Can anyone help with a Tutorial link to learn how to import a 3rd party AC Mod into rF2 for private use and learning ? I only find links importing to AC or importing from rF1.
There isn't one that I'm aware of. If you know how to import from rF1 and can make physics, then you know enough to put the pieces together for importing from AC.
Ok thanks @Emery This explains why my searches came up empty. I have never done any conversions before so will now look for a rF1 to rF2 import lesson.
Worst. Video. Ever. But to convert from AC isn't too difficult. Importing the model and export as gmt. It's just the work required when updating shaders and creating a gen file for all the parts. Plus, it's very much likely the GMT's exported will need to be broken down - example being steering wheels in AC are exploded onto the cockpit models, whereas rF2 needs the steering wheel GMT to be separate. It's possible to convert, just the work required is more time consuming. Not difficult, before people think that.
LOL (and you know I keep spreading the link around whenever someone asks about tutorials) My only wish is that the steps were written down instead of being a video.
I think I wrote notes when producing the video, but it was brief and tbh I just made it up as I went along. The video was only done for a uni project, so I'm amazed people find it useful.
Andy, yours is the only one that i am aware of, and of course the best. I like you learnt by doing it and getting it wrong many, many times.
Thanks. I think it's best to learn by messing up many times. I'm still learning today, I'm far from a pro. I just got to where I am by trial and error. There was a time when converting seemed like another world, but now I know the steps I find it quite simple.
