Maybe make it so the pit lane path merges with the main path later. I think in the latest patch, the safety car shouldn't be collideable by default, but that's not really a fix.
I think I have/had the same issue as you are having. I posted about it a few months ago, but never spent much time investigating the issue (I tried some of the suggestions given in the thread, but didn't seem to figure it out). LINK. I would love it if somebody found a concrete solution, as that issue pretty much killed my desire to work on tracks (that and dirt racing is out on iRacing, haha). I tried to copy the exact scenarios in other small ovals, but never found a solution. I don't think I tried smaller field sizes though. I'll have to test that when I mess around with it more (not really a fix, but maybe it's related to that somehow).
