I just want to say if you have the time definitely watch these videos. JKA helped me out a lot with my first 3PA track Eagle Creek and he is a very smart guy when it comes to this stuff. His teaching will help you make ISI quality tracks for rF2. I know I will watch his videos just to refresh myself on things that I have not done in awhile or not very often. Thanks JKA for sharing your knowledge I will chime in when I feel it is needed. Cheers, Mike
If people are still remotely interested, the silence is deafening, the latest video is where it might start getting interesting for some people. If only to hear some Finlish For people who are trying to follow along in 3dsmax, I can really recommend doing some basic max tutorials. This is by no means a 3dsmax tutorial and doesn't explain basic principles very well or at all. As hinted at by JKA himself, some basic knowledge is expected and I dare say required!
Thank you, waiting for the "Basic road modelling, material settings, mapping, exporting and checking end result in Track Viewer" part on my side
I want to remind you all... these are your tutorials, we want to hear your feedback on what you want to have explained to make Car/Track making easier. My main one that I want for a further video is 3dsmax blank file -> gJED -> rFactor 2
There is two tuto I hope to find in video: How to add real road and wet to a track (perhaps it's explained in the Video 3 of 7?) How to do adjust/export step by step the ISI animated driver into a modded car in 3DS Max 2010
Just watching these, great initiative. I was planning to do the same thing via text but video is so much more efficient
I am seeing that animation is a big thing... maybe some tutorial videos focusing on animations? Animating a person with bones, animating a spinning object, animating a flying object on a path etc....
Somebody should sticky this thread! Woodee, is it possible to add all video's in the OP? About the gJED video: Jka converted the gmats to default materials. I was hoping he would show how to do things without the gmaterials. A question for Jka: the multi dirt/grass shader in gJED: does it make use of the same UV channels as with the gmaterials? Or is it different, like the real road shader?
I hope someone does sticky this I can't add all vids to the top post as you are only allowed 2 vids per post. I have suggested to Jka that a "scratch-gJED-3dsmax" video is wanted.
