Great idea! I'm not sure if I will send my layout, because I'm trying to do it myself. But off course it would be awesome if it is done properly. I gather you're not interested in my thought about the environment and history of the track (layout-changes throughout the years for example)? Can it be a 3D-layout, with elevation changes, or do you want to do that yourself?
To be honest I would like to see a NYC track. One version could be a short track like the one in the PGR games that go over the Brooklyn Bridge and the long version could span the 3 major boroughs (Bronx, Manhattan and Brooklyn). Believe it or not there are a LOT of elevation and surface changes in NYC. I'm not a CAD dude but I could at least get a map and draw out a nice route. Make sure it hits some of the major iconic structures and areas like Yankee Stadium, MSG, Times Square etc.
Nice idea feels3... I wish I knew CAD Never mind, I`m sure you`ll get lots of guys that do know and I look forward to what`s eventually done.
nice thinking feels3, I have many track designs in my head but no hope of using a Cad program or even a pencil and paper Good Luck with it all
Yes, with elevation changes. It's not a beauty contest, manual paintings are also accepted Basic layout and some dimension and that's all you need. Yes, v7.0 format. Everyone is welcome, even PRO moders Yes, only fantasy layouts.
If I was to design a track on a sheet of paper, and scan it in, would that be good enough mate? Thanks!
Does anyone have a good example of a track that is well-described on flat sheet of paper, I.e. how to describe/notate elevation changes, road texture, camber, etc? Is it as simple as just using words? Also, does anyone have ideas for good rules of thumb to use in track design, such as things that won't make sense, not to stifle creativity but just guidelines to help avoid our creations being dead on arrival b/c of a stupid mistake.
Create a layout you'd like to run. Don't doodle but be creative, don't go overboard with certain features (e.g. 3km long straights, ten chicanes in a row, only 90° corners, ...). Just describe camber verbally or draw a cross-section if it's complicated. Elevation can be described or you can use height lines to illustrate. If it's intelligible, any artist can make at least some sense of it. Don't worry about the format, spend your time on the creative stuff.
LOL I need glasses Sorry feels disregard my emails ,i missed some of your first post or atleast missread it. Good luck all
