    Actually there is this option, and it is the best to use (compared to other options): search for the following line in the player json file:

    "Max Framerate":141,
    "Max Framerate#":"0 to disable (note: positive numbers only, we always use the 'alternate' method now)",

    Thanks Gertjan, does thgis work with rf2 menus and replays for you or just driving?

    I have big problem with night races, my FPS drops hard - daytime no problem at all
    changed "max headlights" to lower numbers and I still see these headlights "in the void"
    is there any way to fix that? it's so stupid to drive with limited visibile cars and still have these headlights floating with no car behind them and I believe this hits hard my performance too

    Checking my player.json yesterday I couldn't find
    "Rain Drops":false,
    anymore

    Instead there was something called Rain FX now, which can also be enabled / disabled. Might have changed with the recent updates for wet conditions. For me it was enabled but I certainly disabled the old setting back then. This could be something which helps in gaining a bit performance back.
