Ha, just because there is no build you guys start bickering amongst yourselves? Come on... thought we had been through this before.
It's a shame the last good string of posts came over 2 pages back. Flame wars shouldn't be held in this topic, we don't need the brigades from both sides lining up again.
If you guys can't show some maturity I'll make you take a forum break until the build is actually released. It's four clicks I'd prefer not to have to do, but it'd probably be the brighter part of my day.
Bad luck then. It's good, Tim found the issue in time. Imagine, hundreds of potential customers try the demo with new content on, and can't even start.
Hello Tim, just a question. When i was on the web site yesterday, i immediately see build 996 on lite and demo version to download and i have download the lite version already. When i get back to forum for the build notes, i see that you had the problem with demo mode. Should i do a reinstall or can i let it be in a 996 build? Thanks for the answer and your patience in general lol
Obviously you can try it if you don't want to use online or demo. If you intend to stay with the mainstream, then wait.
Yeah when I cleared the cache to remove it, it showed the link for a minute. I had all the pages staged. It's up to you, I wouldn't probably use an unlinked build.
It is a little bewildering that some are still waiting to be told they should buy what they have been told they should buy already. Both being told it, and ignoring when it is said already. rFactor2.1!!!!!!!!11 should be the product name now perhaps.
Maybe you are kidding, but in my opinion can be a very smart marketing move call it rFactor 2.1 and release it with the new oval contents and gJed editor. PS: and make a post show all the new feature appeared in the last year: CPM, graphycal improvements, new ui, new official mod install process, etc etc
I think this is a good idea too, although how you name it etc i'm not sure. When the Nascar content is released should give things a real boost especially in US so drawing a line under things and advertising a big update could be really smart. Still too many people who seem to think that RF2 is still in Beta and don't make the jump from RF1 or sims with far fewer features.
rFactor2.1 would be pure marketing BS. I remember the joke that iRacing2.0 turned out to be but the funny thing was Tony Gardner said that "2.0" was still a success in their eyes because of the publicity they got and by the numbers of people who signed up. So who knows, maybe it would work for rFactor but it could also give more fuel for the people who love to post on the internet how much they hate it.
But in this case, it isn't 1.0 to 2.0, which was an exaggeration for what got improved/changed in iRacing. It's 2.0 to 2.1 and there is way more in that 0.1 than 99% of sim racing fans out there generally know. All marketing is BS to some extent, but ISI needs to go from zero marketing to a little bit. I have no concerns about them exaggerating anything.
