If I had a T500 I'd do the same as you, nice! Holding out for a CSW with F1 rim to replace my GT2...

 

This beta made me go over to the dark side and order a Fanatec wheel set

I want to feel the beautiful FFB with a belt drive and without the rattles of my G27.

 

When you get it can you make a video of you using the t500 with the F1 wheel , with the camera showing the wheel and the game , then ideally do some driving with you holding the wheel very lose so Its possible to see the ffb response ?

 

And, you want potatoes with that, sir?

I'm in the same boat, have a t500, looked at the f1 wheel add on but no display, thinking of ordering one + parts to add the display

I got the Ferrari T500 when rF2 came out and couldn't be happier. The feel with this wheel is imo close to perfect. Just had my first F Masters race and it was great fun. Didn't even know DRS was enabled with these cars!! LOL What a putz!!

 

it's greaaat, i'll try and get a video at some point maybe next week when i have some time off work (and clean up)

I really really like it!, i wish i could get a LED mod for the top tho.

how are the flappy paddles on the standard rim?

 

Big and stationary, as in they don't turn with the wheel. Otherwise pretty nice.

 

So not really suitable for fast openwheel?

 

IMHO stationary paddles are not suitable for anything, except possibly breaking your fingers. =)

 

Dear god buy yourself a larger screen ! you can get some really good and cheep 37-42" LG TVs , having the game match up more to your FFB wheel really helps with the immersion and hitting brake + cornor pionts , It also allows you to set the game scale/fov more closely to reality.

I'm really jelouse of your Wheel and ... Wheel ! I would love to try one out but simply don't have the cash at the moment !

Be amazing if you can make a video like I said above + don't forget the potatoes !

it wasn't cheap and it ****s on any lg tv as lcd montor > lcd tv

no input lag here so the ffb always matches up a good way to tell is if the wheel matches the movement on the screen



it does look small in the picture.....the wheel is HUGE!!!!

 

Size matters more than absolute picture quality in racing, and many of the lower end TV's have just as little input lag as LCD monitors (which do have some input lag compared to CRT, some have veeeeery little though). Higher end TVs tend to suffer from the user not being able to turn off all of the image enhancers, no matter what they do, so they tend to suffer from lag more.

CRT are the kings still. i doubt you be able to buy them new these days....sigh

 

You can, just not new. Well, you can buy new ones too, but they're special ones, designed for people who need absolute color accuracy etc. so they'll be expensive and not really suitable for gaming.

 

yeah, but thanks to the size and weight of LCD, I have a 26in as my PC LCD, and a 37in HDTV right next to it for TV and media....all in the confines of my mid sized bedroom....imagine trying that with a bulky 100kg 36in Sony CRT, lol.
