Thinking about rfactor 2

Yeah I don't understand the grief ?

Over things that don't bother 99.9% of users because they have never used a GME or you would know the problem that incorrect packaging can cause.

I was making light of the fact that is the total sum of my ISIMotor cons...... a few trivial little things no one realizes.

I hear people every day bagging rF2 for much more ........so if that is the worst I have to say ? lol
So if you bothered by what I think about issues that affect me packing GME mods personally ?
I call that condescending.
You going to sue me for caring about something ?
So I will say HUH ! Go learn problems with GMEs before you speak next time :)

Sims I make GME mods for.
GPL GTL PnG GTR2 AMS rFactor AC ACC rFactor 2 LMU BEAM :)

Here is new check on hidden files, fresh GPL downloads for lost content and a couple new AC tracks. Also no surprise a couple steam games with hidden thumbs ... that is just bad file keeping.
So in short if content you pack into GME have hidden files they will error.
I mean seriously is that so hard to comprehend ? :)

What i would like is a conversion of the TT Isle Of Man Ride on the Edge 3, i just love riding a bike in that game, in that kind of track. I now, the track was already made, and i love to drive it. But the layout of TT game have all the roads, it seems. I also don´t have much time, like the creator of the thread, but is a dream, like a rally mod for RF2.

Today marked the end of RF2 for me. Bought a new 5090/ultra 9 285k machine. LMU, ACC, ACE, AMS2 even R3E. but. didnt bother reinstalling RF2. Sad as it still has the most play hours inmy library, its just.. dead.

Awesome news, dude.

Most relevant indicators show that in some way rFactor 2 is dead.

However,

For a certain number of people in the ultra minority, from whom I, the use of the single-player mode is exceptional, that is to say, just as good as in 2021 and 2022 (physics, car content, track content, UI, graphics, sounds...).

On a purely individual level for a very small minority of people, rFactor 2 is not dead (and for me).

To be really precise.

I haven't touched rF2 (or any sim) since April 2024. I just don't have room in my man cave for a rig anymore. However, if someone - anyone - could provide the successor to GT Legends - @Marcel Offermans - I would move mountains ( and office furniture) to get on track again.
GT Legends was the game that got me totally hooked on sim racing. It lead me to rFactor and subsequently rFactor 2. I have been wanting GT Legends 2 ever since.
Marcel, any chance you could manage some sort of licensing deal for that name and/or series? Modern Historical racing may be a niche, but one with many fans in the rF2 sphere.

There is no series here that has the pass through rights to license the cars and tracks. Creating something like that would mean licensing every car and track individually.

I will agree that a lot of those cars are a joy to drive.

Dead is in content and development, for those who play like us in single player it's a zoombie.

I wanted to state the facts, being nuanced unlike those who say that it is 100% dead, and others  who say anyway it is alive since I am the best I play it

If I can put things more brutally,

Actually the game is dead in itself
AND
→ The fact that I play it exclusively about 3 hours a week and probably for several years (since 11 years) does not make it less dead...

It is just (ONLY) alive for me and for what ? Less than 5% of simracers  (and again, for 2 years there is still a certain personal frustration with what is happening concerning rfactor 2).

What the hell ISI was thinking offering sim this sophisticated for people. Why they did it ? Were they insane ?

When AI will kill us all, they will select rF2 as their window to cars lol

Unless....

It was one guy.
He spent 24/7 for 2 years coding ISIMotor2.0.
Pity we ostracized them out of existence or we could ask him.

Sorry, Realtime dynamic AI, their competition will never catch up simply because they don't have the philosophy of Gjon and never will.

Bling will win everyday.

Great to know, thanks for sharing this undoubtedly true information. Amazing how one guy was able to make all of the physics too.

For me and my son, only Rfactor 2 exist. Of course I only drive with the AI. I tried all the games that call themself´s Simulators, but man, they are so far from Rfactor 2 feel, that is annoying and sad! I really cannot understand how anyone cannot make a better simulator than RF2. The feel of cornering, braking, FFB and sensation of acceleration, no other game is able to replicate.
Note: I only drive RF2 in VR.
