Formula E could help it, it makes no noise so... Also Formula E could use at least one real racetrack finally.

That only leaves deserts to be correct places for racetracks.

Also all italian tracks are quite close to towns, Vallelunga perhaps is the most remote ?

    Here is Imola:[IMG]

You can see that it is close to rather big city, I think it is obvious that the city produces quite a lot of noise pollution by itself, I doubt that race track even is that much significant (except when they ran F1 in the old days, that sound probably has gone through all the sound pollution).

Well at least in simulation no one is going to be bothered by exceeded decibels.

99.99999% of tracks and airports are built away of houses. Stupid people then build houses close and make comments like yours.

There's no correct answer to that.

If you take the example of some ovals in the USA, I've seen people complain that some tracks are in the middle of nowhere, so they aren't going. Track struggling with attendance.

People are more willing to go to the ovals closer to the cities... except that these cities are always growing, to the point where the houses are built near the race track. Originally, Interlagos was built where it was because the land wasn't good to build houses on it. Now it's surrounded by the city.
And if the race tracks struggles to make profit, it gets closed, and the land is used for more houses, or malls. Track gone.

You can't have a track near the city because of noise and money, you can't really have a track in the middle of nowhere because only the big race will attract people.

I'm sure Civil Engineers does their job in best way possible.

I think it is nice to take a look at these tracks in AMS just to see once again how great they are:

IMO part of this is also the track owners being dumb. If you own a track and see houses getting closer you should try to buy more lands around your track. The good side is that if the houses get close to this extra land you can build stuff for business or houses to rent for people visiting your track, there will be a public close so you profit anyway while having some peace :)

    With which money ?
Imola was forced to invest a lot of money to update the circuit after disastrous 1994 F1 weekend that led to the death of 2 drivers (Senna and Ratzenberger) the injury of several people of the public during crash a race start, and the terrible Barrichello accident in the practice (or qualifications, can't remember). Probably, if one of those pilots was not Senna, the impact would have been less dramatic, but despite this, in 2006 F1 stopped using the track, too many GP in Italy and europe, and the need to go where money are.
Long story short: you can't really mantain a full fledged track with just local races, some events, and track rental.

Thank you for your unsolicited political opinion on this forum about pretend racecars and the people who make them.

    So insightful.

With investitors money. You make a cool project and they'll come. When there is nothing around the lands aren't that expensive.

I'm indeed sorry for being part of this derailed topic, I'm the one who would love it to slowly drift towards simulation and to be more related with upcoming content. I would like to apologize for my forum participation. Also for saying that no one is dumb.
