S397, pls take it up in your development:
When race begins, you dont see the downcount timer in pit (boxed) (time says "--" in gui). Noone knows how much time is left to join.Thats a bit a nuisance. I really would like to be SURE I have 45sec to do some little stuff before hitting race. Please count in and show remaining time, say -35, -34 ... sec, like before.

And I can tell you some would be very happy to not only have brake and throttle in replay (you need to judge some situations, stewards), but also to have the lap indicator of current driver back. Because it is hard to find a lap now (to be more exact: the fastest in qualification). Actually it would be helpful to have next to a lap indicator some arrow controls to jump to begin of next or previous lap respectively
( < Lap > ). That would be a cool but helpful addition.
AND in the long run: you have a sectors list in replay studio. But Expand shows 0 - can´t you just browse all laptimes and allow a click on them in the list to change view to selected driver AND scroll replay to the clicked lap start? That would be really helpful. The replay analyzer was also able to offer all laps of a replay for each driver

Is it possible to disable the transition / fading effects, for dialog changes? It makes everything slow. Its nice the very first time then it becomes a nuisance. The GUI is just a tool, and a tool has to work, nothing more - let me go on as fast as possible please. Please add an option somewhere. Thx
 
I do not know if they have changed anything, but last minute four cogelations listening to the engine, waiting but it does not return, in VR:confused::confused::confused::(

Which VR do you use?

I've been using VR for 3 years and I never had any problems until a few months ago,
when I started having the same problem as you. In the last few races I disabled ASW in Oculus Tools and so far I haven't had the problem. I have the CV1 Rift.

I also stopped using MSI Afterburner. I don't know if it was a coincidence or if any of these were the problem, but for now I'm using it without freezing.

the problems have gone after the last changes with the new UI, previously I never had those problems, I use CV1, to see if they update the new UI and can solve the problems

there will be no other than to be patient:cool:
 
Last night, in a championship race I had the problem again. Even using the changes I said above.
In the middle of the race, the rFactor 2 screen froze in VR. When looking at the mirror on the monitor, it was also frozen. I had to finish the game and go back to the server. But 2 laps behind, with no chance of trying anything.
When looking at Windows events, the error refers to the MSVCR120.dll file.

Bug: If you have only practise available as session (offline), you vote next session you get to warmup (though Number of warmup is 0 like for Q and R).
 
I just need to say it loud:
This new UI is very bad!
many months have passed since the beta release, i tried to be polite and doing constructive criticism in this post: https://forum.studio-397.com/index....s-on-how-to-opt-in.64784/page-12#post-1011314
but after all this time not a single thing of what i feel wrong its fixed....
The white and red that hurt my eyes, the confusing setup page with horizontal scrolling, The redundant buttons repeated twice in the same page and all the rest... it feels like this UI it's completely hopeless..
yesterday i reinstalled the game after i build a new pc in january, after 34 gb of download i launched the game, and another download has started. Since it was counting just 5 item( stock car 2015, cobra, mod that i dont use) i pressed skip, and then i pressed race.... BAD MOVE, i got stuck in the session setting page without any possibility of go back to the main menu or close the game!!!!

The only way to exit from this page was to open steam overlay and kill the game from there....Only after i realized that all the workshop item wasnt installed already and then i was unable to select a car, a track or opponent... But the point is: Why the interface allow to make this to happen? BAH.
I was a big fan of the old interface, it was usable and the launcher was good and intuitive, it allowed for install things outside of the game, look for server without opening the game.... Now we can browse the forum inside the game.... Who like to browse forum from inside the game? BAH.

I've been testing the new Ui release-cadidate for about 10 days.
For my purposes this works without any major problems so far.
I mostly test practical training, short races, and then watch it all in replay. Mostly in Spa.
I noticed that the replay sometimes jerked a little! Not always, but sometimes very easy, because the replay doesn't run completely smoothly. FPS are enough 65-95 available! Opponent so 23-29.
I didn't notice that in the previous Ui version.
My system:
6700K, GTX 1070, 16MB Ram

No more way to navigate among participants to view incidents. Viewing made very difficult by the absence of the names of the players above the cars. The disappearance of the list of players happened to two different commissioners on different PCs. Give us back the old interface that was mouse-click-efficient and, above all, worked flawlessly.

Bonjour, cette nouvelle interface est une farce à elle seule. Le dernier dysfonctionnement en date, durant une course de 1000kms, la liste de tous les joueurs qui disparaissait pour les commissaires. Plus aucun moyen de naviguer parmi les participants pour visionner les incidents. Visionnage rendu très difficile par l'absence du nom des joueurs au-dessus des voitures. La disparition de la liste des joueurs est arrivée à deux commissaires différents sur des PC différents.
Rendez-nous l'ancienne interface économe en clic souris et qui, surtout, fonctionnait parfaitement.

May I ask whe the UI does not use my full screen width? I have a curved widescreen, yeah the best price LG 34GL750 only but ok - why more resolution that you dont see anyway...

BUT: the UI uses only a part of my screen, and in the setup, which we all know wastes plenty of space for nothing, I have to scroll left and right hundreds of times. thousands of times in my life probably. for nothing. What a nuisance - ( like no save button for setup if you hit setup, lol only save available outside of your main setup dialog what a BS is that? And why does the setup dialog closes after each action, if you want to delete 3 setups???)

I mean: There is a HTTP engine behind somehow, ok. What is the problem and solution of of http codes GUI ? They have to run on very different hardware, from very small smart phones over tablets to even bigger display. The GUIs are made to ADAPT to the display capabillities, this is on of the MAJOR difference to common desktop apps. And right this advantage this is not used from rf2? I just cant believe it.
 
As a software developer myself, I can't imagine how anyone thought the new UI was in an even remotely acceptable state to release. It is markedly worse in practical usage and design than the old UI it was intended to replace. Like many, it is the worst UI upgrade I've ever encountered commercially. It was clearly designed by developers with no human machine interface experience. Please make fixing it priority #1 as RF2 is a mighty fine sim otherwise and his was a huge step backwards in usability.
