I have a huge problem with the game. I already played more then 300 hours, but as i launched the game up last month everythings seems to load slowly. When I'm in a session, I have like 5 fps and it feels like the GPU is not working. Already the menu seems to be loading slowly. Every other game works fine. I already verified my files and reinstalled, load up video settings to dect my Nvidia RTX bevore launching, updated video drivers but still I can't seem to find a solution. I changed back to the old ui, and suddenly the game runs fine. I have about 100 to 141 fps (depends on the track) and everything feels ok. But now the new content like the indycar dlc, doesn't have any engine sound. When I change back to the current build, again the game is lagging like hell, already in the intro and the menu. Playing with the old UI beta, everything is fine. Help is appreciated
first things first. Rename your player.json file. It may have been left untouched when you re-installed. After renaming, you can reboot rF2 with the NONE option in the beta files section. It almost sounds like some download didn't get completely installed, so IF you can, from the workshop download an entirely new car or track. Doesn't matter if it's S397 or not. Just to see if your install is stuck.
Thanks for your reply. .I renamed the j.son file. I tried in normal mode and with the beta, but still only the beta is working. I installed another mod from the workshop. That was not a problem for me. So still, I can only play with the old UI beta.
Thanks for the reply. i appreciate that. I deleted the userdata folder and did an integrity check. When I launched the game, it reinstalled many mods from the workshop, to which I don't subscribe any more. After that I checked and the game is still laggy. I guess the performance improved, but still the game is undrivable with certain content.
can't be because I use Nvidia Geforce RTX 2070. Also the game worked fine on every track with every vehicle until 2 Months ago. And on old UI beta evrything works just fine
I tried again. Not using a Beta, driving in Spa I had 140 fps in the garage, going down the pits the fps fell to around 60-70 and the game lags, like I had 5 fps. Cars were moving in slow motion. With the old UI bet, same map and same settings, I had around 180 fps the whole time and the gameplay is completly smooth. The problem is, I had only engine sound for certain moments. The sound update doesn't seem to work at all in the old UI beta.
In the normal version it doesn't make a difference. Sound is normal, but the game is laggy. In the beta, only up to 128 effects are possible. With 128 everything works fine, but on certain cars/tracks, the sound cuts out. With 64 effectzs the beta suddenly is as laggy as the normal game.
I don't have an answer for you but there are some diagnostic things you can do. Open up Task Manager Ctrl+Shift+Esc Make sure to tick 'Always on Top' Load up rfactor2. Does Task Manager show any process apart from rFactor2 using up a lot of CPU%? Here is a snap of mine. Also, please check your Virus Checker/Firewall is not blocking something also. Try same test with it temporary turned off.
https://ibb.co/kD3crn3 so gpu is on 100 % some seconds before that it was on 62 % https://ibb.co/ZXqZTyf
I heard some guys saying that who uses VR have a performance degradation trough time and need to delete the entire game and reinstall from scratch, a temporary solution, I don't have VR and don't know if you have.
oh my god. It was the razor game booster all the time. I don't know why it suddenly didn't like Rfactor anymore. Years ago with laptop the Razor software really helped me out, but anyway: Thanks a lot. I highly appreciate your help.
I'm glad you solved your issue, normally all this softwares that promises "magic powers" are the first who slowdown your system
Tu sei un campione! You're a champion, man. After four days of research, this was the only place where I found the answer for my issue. The force feedback of my wheel was causing a huge lag on track, and only the very first RF2 version worked, or with FFB off. Turning off Razor software saved everything. And you saved my game and Isamaru's. GRAZIE MILLE!!! Long life and a lot of success and blessings to you and your family. And everybody else here in this forum. Happy week to everyone!
Too many kind words mate, i'm blushing! Anyway i'm glad you solved your issue and enjoy your "new" powerful PC without bloatwares!
