    Hi,

I finally got my uv unwrapping done but I have a problem with the texture.

In the showroom it shows up fine, but when I want go to the track, it just looks totally wrong. Like the texture proportions are wrong or it's shifted or something

I'm using the modding_workflow & _complete and at the moment I just use the training vehicle and put my car's body in there. (yeah ,I know the model is a bit funky and I haven't added the rest of the parts yet but it's just my learning/test car ;) )
I did scaled my car down in MAX at some point, could this be the cause ? Should I then redo the unwrapping ? When I overlay the dds texture on the uv map in looks fine though.
I use the right material settings from the ISI tuts, I exported my dds as DXT5 ARGB 8 bpp interpolated alpha.

just can't get it to look right on the track

The only thing I can think of is that the material name is used elsewhere (on the track for instance). Are you sure the material has a unique name?

I just found that when I change "opponent detail" in the game settings (devmode) to "full", it works fine ! Although anything lower than "full" gives problems. Strange.

None of the other display settings (player, texture , etc ...) causes any problem.

I hope that is a KNOWN bug. It causes many different problems. Please, ISI, check the functions of the texture Detail options.

Try making mipmaps on your problem texture. Worked when I had that issue. My guess is the game uses the mipmap for the lower quality.

Does your texture have mip maps?

All symptoms point to the texture not having mip maps. When you change detail settings, the game engine selects a lower mip maps for lower detail levels, if those mip maps don't exist, then it will get all funky.

While I agree with Toebee and Mianiak, there is a problem with the texture selection radio buttons. If you don't believe me lower the opponent detail selection and your cars resolution will be controlled by that button.

I also have texture loading problems and I can recreate the problem with the opponent detail selection. I have double checked the textures and mine do have mipmaps. So this tells me there is a bug.

Goat, What part of the car are you referring to? I just want to make sure its not a separate texture not related to the livery.
If you can show some screenshots too that would be good.
