I remember from rF1 the UGLY gray cars with bad engine sound. I don't know why they appeared. They really bug me and now they are in rF2 also. They are yellow now though. So why there are temp cars? How to get rid of them.
Better then no cars as in Race 07. Cant remember how many times i got punted off in practice because one guy didnt load all the cars yet.
No it means they joined the server whilst you were ontrack, when you go back to the garage your game will load the proper textures.
I do not like the temp Cars I would prefer that the temp cars were a default car that would be appropriate for the race rather than those ugly gray/yellow boxes with wheels. Takes a lot away from the immersion experience. Ruins it pretty much. Perhaps selecting such a default car would be a mandatory part of setting up a multiplayer session...woulld be easy to do.. Mike
The whole thing about temp cars is that if you load some default car with livery and the rest it will create a brief pause in the server, which could disrupt a good lap or something like that. With temp cars entering there is no pause. If you see a temp car just go to the garage and the thing will change over. Alan
Temp cars are used so that there is no brief pause when a car enters the server. That's the way I understand their purpose. Alan
A flat texture of a car on it would take up less resources and look better than cardboard upside down yello car
