Thanks for the clarification. I should read better the next time. Anyway; hope it will be solved because it ruins the experience a bit.
v1.12 (2023-3-11) Single file starting grid, 72 grid & garage spots, 24 pit spots - New single file 72 starting grids for 72km layout, each grid is roughly 50 meters apart. - Adjusted garage area to make room for 72 garage spots. - Increased the number of pit spots to 24 (per 3 vehicles). As recently requested, this is another maintenance update that adds more garage/pit spots, single-file starting grid, which fits better with historic theme and larger race field for both online & singleplayer. !!! Important Note for Singleplayer !!! From extensive testing, racing against more than 40 AIs (on this track) could result serious performance issue, such as huge lagging or slow motion with player physics, due to heavy CPU usage from AI.
You made my day Fantastic work on a fantastic track. I drive with BTCC inviniti now or the cataham from Studio 397 beautiful.
Great job again Victor, well done. That should help reduce any issue with pit sharing. The original number of 12 was a problem. I was thinking about trying to do this myself, but you beat me to it. Great minds think alike . Yes, I also too found over 40 AI cars over loaded the physics thread.
Thanks. I hope the new pit spots will work well. For me the other more difficult part was to rearrange the garage area to work with 72 cars, which took several days.(also I still have the bug where waypoint green nodes can't be seen in editor for this track... it makes AIW editing more difficult.) Initially I was planning to go for over 100 garages as it was in real life, but there is simply no place to put that many garage and pit spots.
I drove the whole Florio Summer track with the BTCC Invinity 40L fuel in high details in VR. Damn this was an relax VR experiance with high fokus of this beautiful track 35 minutes and 2 little damages rFactor 2 and this track is something different, cruising, racing up to the driver. rF2 is so extremely varied and with such tracks I love it
v1.14 (2023-6-24) - Add 10 new rally stage layouts (S5-S14), each based on real historic rally events from 70s to 90s. - Fixed fast timing sectors exploits on all rally stages to ensure fair play, which previously could be used to achieve impossible laptimes. Attempt to exploit those fast timing sectors will now immediately cancel laptime. - Fixed "Exiting pit under red" while staying in garage area. - Improved AI dropdown & slowdown zone at the end of each rally stage. - All rally stages now share the same default setup folder "Targa_Florio_Rally". - Replaced "pit closed" sign board with pit-out flagger. - Added start location name to each rally stage name. - Updated & corrected all rally stages length info. Rally stages based on original GPL track timing sectors: Stage 1 : Stazione di Cerda > SS 120 Bridge (18.30 KM / 11.37 Miles) Stage 2 : SS 120 Bridge > Bivio Polizzi (19.50 KM / 12.12 Miles) Stage 3 : Bivio Polizzi > SP 9 KM 9 (15.23 KM / 9.46 Miles) Stage 4 : SP 9 KM 9 > Buonfornello (18.41 KM / 11.44 Miles) Rally stages based on historic rally events: Stage 5 : Cerda (6.31 KM / 3.92 Miles) Stage 6 : Collesano (9.73 KM / 6.05 Miles) Stage 7 : Cerda (38.09 KM / 23.67 Miles) Stage 8 : Cerda (13.04 KM / 8.10 Miles) Stage 9 : Caltavuturo (19.89 KM / 12.36 Miles) Stage 10 : Cerda (26.17 KM / 16.26) Stage 11 : SS 120 Bridge (28.31 KM / 17.59 Miles) Stage 12 : Caltavuturo (14.30 KM / 8.88 Miles) Stage 13 : Buonfornello (9.52 KM / 5.91 Miles) Stage 14 : Cerda (19.15 KM / 11.90 Miles) Spoiler: Historic reference S5: https://www.rally-maps.com/Rally-Internazionale-di-Sicilia-1974/Cerda S6: https://www.rally-maps.com/Rally-Internazionale-di-Sicilia-1976/Collesano S7: https://www.rally-maps.com/Rally-Internazionale-di-Sicilia-1977/Cerda S8: https://www.rally-maps.com/Targa-Florio-Rally-Internazionale-di-Sicilia-1979/Targa S9: https://www.rally-maps.com/Targa-Florio-1981/Caltavuturo S10: https://www.rally-maps.com/Targa-Florio-1988/Cerda S11: https://www.rally-maps.com/Targa-Florio-1991/Targa S12: https://www.rally-maps.com/Targa-Florio-1991/Caltavuturo S13: https://www.rally-maps.com/Targa-Florio-1999/Buonfornello S14: https://www.rally-maps.com/Targa-Florio-1999/Villaurea
Nice job again Victor . I had a nice hour driving a few of the rally tracks. If I had one niggle (maybe I have OCD or something ), is the mixed up order of the track names in the menu. Rally 10 to 14 is before Rally 2 to 9 etc. A trick you can do is add an extra space before the numbers in the .gdb files and that will get them in order. This works because in ASCII the Space comes before numbers and letters. To get the layout Summer to the top of the list, add an extra space before the word Summer. It all ends up looking like this--> Thank you again.
Thanks @DJCruicky awesome solution, I'll try make an update soon. Edit: new v1.15 update is out, thanks again to DJCruicky for the help, happy driving
I remember the rf1 version and what you've done with it is a real achievement, a masterpiece of modding. I can't imagine how many hours of work it must have taken, so just two little words: thank you!
Yes I agree. Thank you so much. And the layout is rFactor 2's best, with the Nurburgring in a different genre.
Due to some circumstances I wasn’t able to play for 3 years!! Next week I’m able to drive again with a new pc. First thing I did; check this topic with my favourite track. So nice to see people are still taking their precious time in making this track even better. Thank you so much!!! Can’t hardly wait to drive around this track again, so happy to be back.
You're about to.get one great surprise. Don't forget to check the other projects @svictor has been working.on, Dundrod and Isle of Man.
Oooh nice to read!! Hopefully I can start installing everything this weekend or Tuesday next week. Already looking at all the updates etc. Will also check his other projects!! Almost as excited as when I was a kid. lol
Okay,..finally back at the track I love so much,.... what a difference after three years the track is so much better. And at that time it was only a question if people had time to spare. So happy they did this. I can drive here for hours,......thanks @svictor and of course all others helping out on this amazing track. I was just browsing on the steam workshop and found a person (Sderenno) who recreated even the car of Gijs van Lennep!! The last driver to win the Targa. Sorry, am still a noob, so I can only share the title with whoever is interested: Porsche 911 RSR 1973 V1.31 I posted a video of him returning to the track with his original Porsche, which they found in a shed in Mexico of all places. Hereby the link again, don't think anybody minds I posted this 3 years ago as well. Well, just wanted to give a short update and a big thanks to this great community.
Just wanted to share that there is some kind of little issue regarding road physical mesh in Campofelice, around there: https://imgur.com/x5XobcF
