What exactly does the sync option do. I have it set to GPU right now but I see CPU and another option as well. What is the feature and is it working currently?
It's already been explained by Tim in other thread, I forgot what, but you may find it using the Search function in this forum.
well...thanks for help but it doesnt help. I have the same question rogue, Im sure these fine gentlemen here have the answer. We are not asking for a thesis for it, just an answer.
I think it's from readme but because I'm at work I asked google (one of the first asnwers) Software sync uses a timer to draw frames based on your refresh rate. In other words, you could compare it with a software VSync. GPU sync is a UI element for the PLR’s “Flush Previous Frame” setting. This setting is not recommended for SLI. Video sync is actually the good old VSync option (notice that the usual VSync checkbox is now missing). None means it will behave like the previous build, without VSync enabled.
Thanks very much but let me refrase : Which box I check from the three options ? (w7-64bit, i7-920, gf-9800gt here). Really appreciate it, nikos
Note also that the last drivers released by nV contains a mode for vSync automatically disabled while fps drop under monitor refresh rate.
If you get coil-noise like me ( only sim I get it out of 7 ) I use VIDEO sync. GTX570 1920x1080 HDR, FXAA, smooth as , no tearing, stutter, nothing. Online: 8 cars 60fps - 1270MB usage Offline: 20 cars 44-60fps - 1060MB usage Online even solo uses more GPU/Memory.
