Hello all,
Recently i found out about how spring stiffness affects bumpstop gap/range (amount of suspension travel before it touches bumpstop).
I'm not sure if this is realistic or not because so far in other sims i never heard of this or any other setup guide online didn't state such behaviour.
To give the depth of problems >
• on fpro the suspension travel is reduced by whooping 12+mm from soft to stiff springs rate value(for rear only).
•Also there are no shortcuts to determine how much travel is lost for each spring rate changes as i found out it is not linear.
•sheer amount of spring rate available makes it extremely tedious task, to find total travel for 40,50,80+ springs range available for such f1 cars.
So my suggestions are >>
1.most preferable is to fix it so that setup changes made in garage are consistent. kinda like automagic mechanic in ACC , where you get what you set.
2. a bandaid fix is to give us telemetry channel to show when bumpstop is hit , even if it is just a boolean channel that only shows true or false value.
@Marcel Offermans @Michael Borda @Paul Jeffrey S397 please take a note of it, thank you.
