    Hi Folks

    Here some update news.
Its a hard work to develop a editor tool like this.
There where many bugs solved and i produced new bugs in debugging process.

    The SkipBarber startupcheck item solved.
The PM File and SuspensionChassis.ini are now working. :D
Steering made crazy for a long time.
Found complex UV Coordinates in the tire gmts and solved it wih a own calculation method.
The tires now look very nice and real.
Next step ist to get used to the tire tool to create my own tgm files.

But now the suspension files are calculated very well and the result is good driveable. (see last video). Most of calculation errors are fixed.

I will test the startup procedures on many pcs and Laptops and soon the tool will see a next release.

Meanwhile i show you some funny "outtake videos" of my developing process.
The physics engine of rF2 was a very challenge for me.
    Have fun watching the videos.

So thanks for your interest. :)

Cheers for the updates it looks like you have far more patience than myself. Is the link updated with the newest version? Only ask as on phone so can't check.

Look forward to seeing what help you can offer in regards to the TGM files.

    Hi Butters,

Sorry the link on the First Page Lead to an old and very buggy version.
I deleted this link, because the old Version does not handle the SkipBarber that comes with the new SDK.

I will update the first Page of this thread with the new version as soon as possible.

    Thanks for your hint, Butters.

    Stay tuned.

    Hi,

    thanks for your interest,

I'm working hard on this project.
But my time is limited and i can only work on weekends.

I'm making this tool to create and drive my own modded vehicles.

My next goal is to create wizzard guided a new vehicle mod (in moDev) that is fully driveable, created from the scratch by one click.
The result (as seen in the videos) is a simply scaled vehicle 3d model with all dummy instances, files and fully working physics.
All 3d models can be replaced with own handmade 3d models to reduce the hard time work to get the physics running in game.
I'm also working on possibilites to extend templates with aditional models (tires, rims, Drivers, steeringwheels etc.)
Also im thinking of making YouTube tutorials to show the use of this tool.

there is lot of work to.
    So stay tuned

Awesome and no rush sorry I thought you had an updated version. From what you have shown this thing is worth waiting for can't wait.

Also yes please on the tutorials they are always very useful to be able to pause complete and skip back if needed. Freew67 track tutorials helped me a lot so any video tutorials are a bonus.

I'm at work currently and can't actually download the file to look but does this tool support physics settings for a solid rear axle car? Just curious for a project I'm working on that could be really amazing for the rf2 and sim community

    Hi Leonardo,

this project looks extremely interesting. I have just started to learn to model in rfactor and its all very complex especially without and visual indication or tools.

I too am wondering if there is any workable version close to release?

    Cheers,
    Daniel

    Hi :)

    thanks for your interest,

I'm still working hard on this project.
But my time is limited and i can only work on weekends.

I proceeded on developing this project.
    - The "getting started" initialization routines are improved.
    - This tool now can handle the SkipBarber vehicle as template source.
    - It now can handle the rFactor2 installation in different folders (CorePath not equal to DataPath).
    - Many suspension parameter calculations were added
    - first unfinished implementation of wing parameter calculation (not finished yet)
    - Lots of bugs fixed
    - Most important physics parameters are checked and highlighted (green marked)
    - some new tools are added (f.e. conversions of to BMP Bitmaps to transparent dds file, using nvidia dds tools)

I'm making this tool to create and drive my own modded vehicles. This should not substitute any modding work, but it should help, to get a car running in game, by calculation of calculable geometry files and inspecting, completing and substituting of important or missing files. The result (as seen in the videos) is a simply scaled vehicle 3d model with all dummy instances, files and fully working physics. After that first vehicle- creation all 3d models should be replaced with accurate, own handmade 3d models.

This first small YouTube tutorial previews the first "starting up" and gives you an quick overview to the initialization and how this tool creates a new vehicle in rF2 SDK.

There is still lot of work to, so stay tuned

    Have a nice Christmas time.

Hi, i tried to download the tool but when i run it it just hangs, nothing opens, and the process becomes protected so i can't even kill it. Had to reboot to delete the files. I'm on windows 10 x64

    Hi Algo,

    thanks for your Feedback. :D

I verified this on my Windows 10x64 sony laptop and did not found such a mailfunction.
I downloaded the tool, run it, and the compiled vehicles runs in ModDev as expected.

    > But i noticed everything last about 10x more time, than on my faster Windows 7x64 bit system.

Would be great, if you give it a second try and patiently wait a bit longer.
If it doesn't work again, lets see what we could do.

Did you allready download the latest Version (1.66)?
I found that rF2 ctd after recompiling the vehicle. May be rF2 doesn't handle the "__history" backup Folder.
Version 1.66 fixes this, by not making backups and ctd should be gone.
You may delete the "__history" Folder, if you found it in vehicle mod Folder, (was for backup reasons only).

    good look and modding success

    Leonardo :)
