A few builds ago there was a sun occlussion setting ingame under graphic options, but now there is only a particle setting and the sun occlussion is set to 0 in the player file.
Makes it sence to activate it again oder is the line now useless?

the line is now useless, would be good if ISI could tidy up the PLR one day and erradicate all the null & void entires...and add additional information to the working ones, that'd be good!

I was actually wondering about this the other day. I spotted it in the player file and recalled that setting previously. Mine is set to "0" too, but when I chuck some decent cloud cover over, I still get the bright/dark effect the cloud cover gives as it passes infront of the sun. Pretty sure that's what that setting used to control, it's like its always on now.
I wonder if it is just a redundant old setting that hasn't been pulled out yet.

I've got Sun Occlusion set to 1 in the .plr. I think its very effective and works great.
I assume someone's gonna tell me now that the setting does nothing and the feature no longer works! Heh heh.

Sun Occlusion is working for me, regardless of the setting in the PLR. as was discussed in the Build thread when Soft Particles came into the Menu.

Agree about .plr clean up. Upon installing rF2 on my new PC build, after creating the user the first thing I did was venture into the good old .plr and that was one of the lines I changed to "1".

    Yes it's working.

I think ISI likes to keep the PLR settings because if you roll back to a previous build for some reason, you might like them to be there...

I think it´s now integrated in the "sun effects" setting ingame.
    Setting to "high" enables this.

    Yes it works nontheless.

But any info on the Mirage-effect? It is missing for... about 2-3 builds now isn't it?
