Yes! This is exciting news. I've been waiting a long time for this announcement, and honestly I didn't think it would be as close to real-world as it seems to be. No official license is probably a good thing in this case, I think, because the cars can be slightly tweaked graphically to fit the 3 manufacturers. Now, how about some new oval track announcements? Like maybe that Charlotte they've had on their previews for a couple years now?
BOOGITY BOOGITY BOOGITY LETS GO RACING BOYS! This is...for me...being a huge NASCAR fan...INCREDIBLE news I loved the ISI and Comminuty made mods for rf1, raced online quite a bit although never in a league, hugely excited by this! As good as the AI are on race circuits in RF2 the Ovals are gonna be a whole diffferent kettle of fish, although with the progress and features made by ISI since the first Build I fully trust them to get this to the best it can be, 3 wide into T1 scenarios fyling through my head!
Two-car stuff still works in real life, NASCAR banned it. That created pack racing with this car, not the other way around.
Are there plans for different "manufacturers", like how it was in the NSCRS mod in rFactor 1 (Centennial, Edgar, Titan)? It'd be interesting to let the imagination go a little wild, have the "NotaChevy", "NotaToyota", "NotaFord", and "NotanOther"
Tim, you guys made my day with this announcement. I came from NR2K3, ArcaSimRacing and some other mods for rF1 that don't deserve mentioning. Have you been in touch with the guys at TheSimFactory? Their physics work with the gmotor in rF1 was and still is amazing. Anyways I have been over here as of rF2 and have enjoyed every bit of it. Can't wait to get in these cars
I have to admit that I am not an oval fan (don't tell my fellow Americans, though, that as I may be deported ) but like another has said I am very pleased at the amazing job ISI is doing with diversity of content and also how this will bring more people into the best sim ever. Also, I am expect oval racing to be awesome fun with rF2's increased physics and ffb detail, especially at the bumpier ovals. Now where are those midgets!
I'm not an oval fan either in terms of spectating, but driving the ovals is bloody great fun. What's more, the one nascar race I saw here on Sky Nz was at some actual road circuit. I think it was ambrose who won it, but they were sliding and bashing each other all over the place, it looked amazing. Cant wait to chuck them on Mores...or something like that...XD
