Looking terrific, can't wait this mod! I have one question about these early 70's Stock cars: As I'm not from USA and although I watch Nascar (and IndyCar) races as of now, I know pretty much nothing about the Stock Car history. So, were these Grand National era cars driven at all on road courses or were they always tuned asymmetrically solely for oval racing and if so, can you set these cars up for road course racing?
I know of at least one road course track (riverside raceway) that they raced in 71-72. The mod will be designed to run both.
Riverside, of course! That was one awesome track back in the day. It is a true shame that they went and demolished it.
I couldn't agree more. I attended the last few races there back in the late 80's. I still only live a few blocks from where the track use to be. Now it's a mall that almost no one uses... Hopefully we will see this track live again in RF2 someday.
This is for AC, but Hopefully when it become final, one of the track converters can get permission to convert it over. http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/riverside-international-raceway.9492/
Toebee I thought you had mentioned having a Riverside track for rF2? The AC Riverside is as close as it has ever been to the real world track, I love it. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
That AC version does look pretty sweet. The version I think I got permission for was this one https://www.rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=Riverside I think. Been years.
Just a update. Progress is still moving forward. Albeit sorta slowly. Interior of the 71-72 Monte Carlo is 90% done. Just posted a few teasers. https://goo.gl/photos/VoPvV3bWf8xLS8PG9
Small update on progress. I've finished with what I can do to the Monte Carlo interior. It's not mind blowing but should be decent enough. I am certainly no expert in modeling or textures. I have started work on the Roadrunner interior. I am just going to morph what I did in the Monte Carlos interior to fit in the Roadrunner. Should go much faster. https://goo.gl/photos/9mNAJF5fDBv6jV8T7
As I learned way back with GP4 modding, If the model is decent enough, textures and mapping make the difference .
very intresting project toebee, communicates passion P.S. about Riverside i see track is converted to rf1 by Nascar HEAT. i think there are low mesh (= force feedback problems with some cars). are you able to improve mesh? (btw Ac version is now final)
I have not tried to work on Riverside. Hoping someone else out there will put one out. If not I would certainly try to get approval to convert the AC version first. It looks really well done.
Lilski is pretty open to inquiries for conversions of his tracks if there is someone who has the itch to ask.
Lilski's Riverside is the best thing I've ever seen. Very, very accurate! I would love to have it in rF2.
Another update, I have finished morphing the interior I made for the MonteCarlo to the Roadrunner. https://goo.gl/photos/5qPg5EQ6wZBSWYsM7 Starting on the charger next.
