My Steam workshop items usually DL at 1.8MB/s but over the last week it is lucky to hit 100KB/s , slooow ?
Any other download is still at 1.8 MB/s so why is Steam so slow ?

you can always change your default download location to another server...

    STEAM MENU
    SETTINGS
    DOWNLOADS
    Change download region

Steam restarts.. voila use a location that has mega bandwidth.. Often i have to do this to go around the australian steam servers as often they get bottlenecked when there is major AA title launches or patches.

Tonight QLD was slow, down to 100KB.
Went to NSW and back to my usual 4.5MB

At least Steam can pump out the download as fast as your connection can go.
Being able to change the download server when it is slow is pretty damn good I think.
Considering the large number of people that use Steam I think they do a good job.

Yes Jedi, anything is better than Victoria's weather, it's not all about speed. ;)

At least Vic had a glorious last month apart from 2 days, lots of new development near where l live which could be creating fluctuations

So only 3 seasons in one day, I suppose the two days is when you had your "summer" probably approaching 30°C. :p
At least in QLD we know it will either be hot or hot with a late hotter change.
I've tried your wacky weather once, put on and take off more clothes in one Vic day than in a month in QLD.

I live in a area where more and more 10 storey units and on smaller blocks the old house is replaced by a 4 unit double storey box are being built.
My iinet adsl2+ connection went from bad to so bad that I didn't bother wasting my time reporting to iinet that my always decreasing connection speed (started with a few years at 750 kb then the last month plummeted to 200 kb) was now deceased.
I discovered that the cable my Foxtel used could also do cable internet.
So I went and saw the devils minions, a real live helpful minion bloke and not one call needed to an Indian fellow named Davo o_O.
Soon after I had 4.5mb of Lucifer's Telstra cable goodness. :)

@bwana I'd just like to point out @ADSTA's lack of clothes-changing isn't typical up here.

A friend of mine on cable extreme also had wildly fluctuating dl speeds last week, I'm not sure if he tried a US server or not. But once the game itself had finally finished I think the content came through pretty quick.

Same here in North Queensland, fluctuating speeds all last week...went to a US server and all good, haven't gone back as yet to see if Aus server are still playing up.....only good thing about Victoria is that it keeps Tasmania further away :D:D

You can have your "pay ridiculous money to sit in grandstand and watch race on big screen" F1. That's how a mate described it who went last year.
I'll take Group N Historics at Lakeside any day.

 Ummm, last weekend was the Lakeside Tribute. Wasn't even aware of it, I suppose I should read my QR emails, I was busy anyways.

Have to wait till 11-13 August for the Lakeside Classic.

I work in the sun all week so I prefer to stay away from the bloody thing on weekends, especially in summer, unless I'm getting paid for it.
August though is a bit cooler, Vico's would think it's still a heatwave :p, so I dare say I'll be there.
