SSD size for OS and more?

Is 120GB really enough as a OS drive?

Cheers.

Big bump for others in 2026.

One thing to remember is not all SSD are equal you get the right 1TB you gain 22GB which is not to be sneezed at in our age.

I TB IS NOT 1 TB.png

In 2026 120GB is still heaps for W11
I only use 100GB partition ( 102,400 MB) myself
With hibernation disabled and by not putting anything does not need to actually go onto C:\ you should have 50% free space forever.
This also negated reinstalling a lot of software come a fresh OS

Right now is good time to do fresh W11 as there is a new media tool which has latest updates on it already.

UPDATES WILL TAKE 2 MINUTES

You should set C:\ drive when doing first OS.
Then with fresh OS you will just delete the 4 partitions on C:\ click on the empty space and just click NEXT.....NOT NEW.
That will make sure you retain original partitions and ID if you use registry merge for mounted devices.
