    Hi,
    Does anyone know how to speed up the formation lap ?
    The present speed is way too slow for F1 sims and the rf1 file change is not applicable in rF2.
    Thanks in advance !

    Are you familiar with extracting and repacking tracks?
    You can change the formation speed in track .gdb

    Hi Peterchen,
    Thanks for the quick reply, I tried extracting RaceRfactor China 2014 v1.11 with the gMotor2 MAS file utility but was unsuccessful leading me to believe that the track maybe locked.
    Any other ideas or am I going about this wrong ?

    I don't know where the problem is, but the track is not locked.

    Message I receive is "Unable to open MAS file"
    Is the gMotor2 MAS file utility the correct program to use ?

    Yes.
    You have to install the circuit and open the mas file with the Mas2.exe
    Any of our circuits are encrypted.

    Ok, thanks for the help.
    I did not realise one should go to the installed folder, I was trying to extract the RFCMP file directly.
    But there is nothing about formation laps in the GDB file though.

    If you want a speed of 150, i think you have to add...
    FormationSpeedKPH = 150

    Hi lagg,
    Thanks again !
    Where exactly should one add this line (sorry to be such a noob :( )
    I remember in rF1 it was placed here so will try it.

    RacePitKPH = 100
    QualPitKPH = 100
    NormalPitKPH = 80
    FormationSpeedKPH = 180
    QualifyDuration = 50
    PitSpeedingAllowance = 1.0
    ParcFermeSetup = 1
    FreeSettings = 236

    Sorry for delay in answer, no time here lately.
    Solved by adding FormationSpeedKPH = 180 in gdb file after extracting .
    However when clients try entering dedi server an error occurs.
    This temporary solved by uploading the first made client track folder from Installed to the other clients.
    Any ideas what I am doing wrong here ?
    After extracting the gdb file, I add the text and repack the mas file.
    I tried deleting old gdb file before repacking but this did not change anything.
    Server loads game normally.
    However thanks for the pointer in the right direction :)

    You have to repack the track (rfcmp) and create a new rfmod.
    Install in the server and the clients.

    I think the better way is to overwrite this value in the .rfm file used to do the rfmod instead of modify a track.

    Hi lagg, the rcmp file is locked. (RaceRfactor Sochi 2014 2.08)
    @ MaD_King : I will try your method of overwriting the value in the rfm file and post the results.
    Thanks to both of you for your input :)

    I tried adding FormationSpeedKPH = 200 to the default.rfm file after extracting it from the MAS file in ~MASTEMP.
    Then repacking the MAS file again.
    This succeeded in adding the formation lap but the speed is still 50 km/h when 180-200 km/h is desired.
    DefaultScoring
    {
    RacePitKPH = 100
    NormalPitKPH = 100
    FormationSpeedKPH = 200
    Practice1Day = Friday
    So for the moment, uploading the track folder in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\rFactor 2\Installed\Locations\ to the clients seems to be the only way it works.
    Any other ideas are welcome :)

    You need to do your own dedicated rfm.mas with your .rfm file inside and not update the one in ~MASTEMP because it is overiden I think each time you pack the rfmod.

    Hi MaD_King,
    Thanks for the quick reply !
    In which folder do I find this dedicated rfm.mas file ?
