    Nice :)

    What general specs is the car built to, any specific rule set in real life? Power / weight? Transmission ( guessing manual? ) Slick or semi slick / road tires?

    Built as close as possible to the real world spec miata specifications

    Lap times at real world tracks should be very close

    Nice. Great to see you put alot of Effort and research to this, thanks alot already :)

    @baked bean - according to Regs the Transmission must remain unchanged, so H-Shifter should be the Option of Choice, not sure if the car has a 5- or 6-speed gearbox yet though

    The default setup has some artificial timings in the HDV
    UpshiftDelay=0.120
    UpshiftClutchTime=0.200
    UpshiftLiftThrottle=0.120
    DownshiftDelay=0.145
    DownshiftClutchTime=0.270
    DownshiftBlipThrottle=0.70

    There's an upgrade option to use a gated shifter, which zeros these out

    The gear-box is a 5-speed with exact gear ratios from a spec miata. You can choose from 2 different rear end gearings.

    [GEAR_RATIOS]
    ratio=(1000, 3600) // 3.600
    ratio=(1000, 3163) // 3.163
    ratio=(1000, 1888) // 1.888
    ratio=(1000, 1330) // 1.330
    ratio=(1000, 1000) // 1.000
    ratio=(1000, 814) // 0.814

    [FINAL_DRIVE]
    bevel=(1, 1)
    ratio=(1000, 4100) // 4.100
    ratio=(1000, 4300) // 4.300

    Is this what you're asking?

    Yeah, it really needs one for authenticity. I have the default settings with the artificial timings, because I think most folks drive with the paddle shifters.

    That's should be really interesting to work on this virtual car, and to be able to use your real one for comparison and tuning :)

    My H-shifter and I are happy to get such a car in rF2 :)

    A lot of people don´t care for authenticity and will use the upgrade with no shift timings and then paddle shift, because it gives you a certain and imho unfair advantage, especially when fighting for the last tenths of a second. I´d recommend to leave the shift timing on and also use the clurch torque trick until ISI come up with a new transmission model. Just my two cents....

    But whatever you decide, I lied in my previous post, I can´t wait no more :D hitting F5 all day long and looking out of the window for the thunderstorm to begin and bring some cooling so that I can start my gaming machine - 32 Celsius in my living room today, so maybe I´ll wait some more to prevent overheating the GPU :cool:

    I'm just putting together some skins from Twista. v .91 will be out this afternoon.

    I'm interested in the clutch torque trick. Can you point me to a thread on it? I might include it in the next update

    There´s no specific thread for it, you have to lower the BaulkTorque to be less than clutch torque and the engine´s torque at high revs, so if people just stay on the throttle and shift up the clutch slips. The effect is in ISI´s Howstons, the Lola by Pixsim if I remember correctly and for example in rF1´s DRM mod. The clutch will also slip on downshifts and makes it feel more natural imho - at least for smaller street-type cars. Just look at the Howston´s hdvs, its an easy trick and doesn´t take much effort to tweak. So in the end, people can use the upgrade with no shift timing and shift with paddles, but they will have to lift the throttle on upshifts.

    If its a beta you can change that settings after. Maybe you will receive a lot more feedback before changing anything. Its better then changing now and changing again after release.
    You choose, we wait.

    No release today - nasty sound bug found, which I think is fixed. Thanks for pointing it out Twista. And I'm badgering around with the clutch torque settings... so far no luck on making it work correctly.
