Hey guys. I'm new here, live in Belgium and a few months ago I switched from hardcore Assetto Corsa modder to rfactor 2. I really love the physics of the cars. But on topic now. Spa Francorchamps has always been close to my heart. A visit there takes me 2 hours to drive, but I always love being there so I am a big fan of the real thing. I have my own Spa 2019 version with new chicane. Not the form but surroundings and a lot details. Being there at the wec 6h I made many photos with my Canon so I was able to build upon assetto's attempt of Spa as a guide for 3d model but I have seen many things that where not correct. I even took measures on the photos to scale it perfectly. Also many green colors where not correct on the asphalt which to my opinion create that awesome feeling of the circuit. Too small curbs for example above the kemmel straight I fixed 45 unreal things.. (Don't read this as critic please. I love their work and efforts and enjoyed it a long time.) The chicane entry is spot on now. So I upgraded that track so you can enter the chicane like the real race cars do. They don't bump at entry but slip more due to gforce if you enter to fast. Seen this in real as well.. Even filmed it. The racecars go higher on the green asphalt and down on the sausage curb. In assetto competizione and old version they did not even noticed all these things so you drive flat over a high bump curb.. Anyway. I love my version a lot and would love to get all info to transfer it to rfactor. I made my own grass 3d model with some areas where grass is greener, flower areas, placed 100 meter boards on the grass that you can hit. Go wider on the curbs. Updated many textures as well and even placed a small plastic pole at pit entry like the real circuit has. Tried to make my textures colors almost photo realistic. Some plastic warp Total advertising on the tyrewalls..Too long list to write down. Would be great to mod it futher and make the track just perfect for rfactor. So I have the 3D model and all textures. I use blender for 8 years now and updated 60% on this 3d model over the last 5 years. I found a few tutorials but it's still very unclear for me how to get it into rfactor2 with gjed All help welcome. Would be great to collaborate on sound fx for the tribune. In real life the metal tribune is a massive reverb. An Rsr porsche passing while having earplugs is not enough. It's so damn loud and screaming.. not one game got that right. A second version for start grid before eau rouge to have a clio cup or porsche cup for example. The circuit in real life used two pit and start grids for a porsche cup and wec race for example. Many great ideas I would like to offer here.
