Please people of 397, when will you finally make a reasonable real sound for the 911 GTE 2017. The current one is about to cry. This is a howl without equal. No comparison to the other GTE cars. Are you all deaf on the ears ...? Would be nice if something happens.
Not that I'm misunderstood. The onboard sound is completely ok. The replay sound absolutely wrong! It's just the replay sound that should be adjusted.
Wish sounds could be modded like Assetto Corsa. rF2 is the superior sim, but Assetto Corsa has some great audio mods.
Well you and they are all deaf on the ears lol you for thinking this is the version of the Porsche in rF2, and them for thinking they made a good job
It's just noticeable, the 911 GTE sounds a lot worse than the other GTE cars. Especially in the replay. He cries there as if you had stepped on a cat's tail. Zero bass and zero bass sound. Awful. The 911-GTE from Corsa sounds much better there. Either they don't want it or they can't.
it's one of the biggest weakness of rfactor 2 the sound!! when I compare to R3E or ACC the difference is obvious, the sound of the body, transmission, brakes etc... the sounds of both sims are rich and very immersive and that's missing a lot in rf2!! and the outside sound of a sound rarely right and not very audible either! even iracing redid his sound system, I'm sure rf2 can take up the challenge, for the immersion after the graphics it's the most important! I have never heard a dev speak clearly about the sound of his system of these restrictions and possibilities and a future change!
same mod, same sample sounds better on AC than on RF2 so there's one thing that makes the difference!
From "rFactor 2 the big interview part3" at RD forum (July 2019): RD: (question from @Martin Fiala) - Are there any plans to improve the sound engine that seems to be basically limited to a very simple on/off reverb and to stereo only sound? MO: Yes. The current plan is to look at this starting probably Q4 of 2019. I anticipate this work to go well into 2020 though, so you will have to be patient!
There are some sound 'bugs' with the Porsche GTE cockpit audio. If you have a pair of really good headphones, you can hear cracking and popping where it sounds like some sounds are clipping or the sound engine can't handle them.
Finally better replay sound. Thanks 397. Since the last BOP adjustment, the RSR now sounds much better in the replay. OK like this.
Like I said, not a matter of sound engine, just a matter of competence and interest from devs. Didn't try it yet but sounded a lot better in the LM24 with the almost correct (lower) pitch, more especially downshifts, they are much closer to the real car now rF2 even back in 2016 could do wonders, it's all a matter of doing things right.
