Hey Guys how do I get the Mercedes AMG SLS SafetyCar to be the actual safety car in the game. I have the classic Clio one and dont know how to change it.
Deleting Clio_PC, you all gone crazy people? . It's up to the guy that makes the server vmod. That person when making it needs to change one line in the rFm file from SafetyCar = Clio_pc.veh to SafetyCar = SLSSafetyCar01.veh . It's also important they need to pick Mercedes_SLS_2012_car in the 'Add Vehicles' section along with the car they want to run.
Fine...and offline? Because I am well aware that online settings are set server side, Tim didn't seem to think it was mad...and what happened to your Avitar? I miss the old one
For offline you could just extract the RFM out of the 'allcarstracks_10' MAS, change the safety car line as in DJC's post, then put it back in the MAS.
DJCruicky is right. For offline, just make an rfmod for the races you want to do and change that one line in the rfm if you uninstall the Clio safety car you won't be able to join 90% of the servers out there
Ok - I'm confused - using mas2.exe to create a rfmod (vmod) ... add tracks and cars - no problem but where the hell do I find this line SafetyCar = Clio_pc.veh so I can change it to SafetyCar = SLSSafetyCar01.veh as described by DJCruicky?
Thank you DJCruicky ... I have setup a sever that should have SLS - i'll check when i get home from work Historic HG4 (Howston HG4 @ Brianza 10k ; Spa 1966 ; Monte Carlo 1966) is the server if anyone is interested.
HELP!! have just read through all the posts and watched the video and still completely confused about how to do this...... I simply want to set the SLS Mercedes as the safety car for ALL races!! and I only play rfactor2 for single player races - no interest in setting up rfmods or learning how do it for a server...... From some of the above advice(one from Tim I think) seems to say I just need to go to mod manager(where I install all my mod files and tracks) and delete the clio_pc file and install the sls Mercedes file (I already have the the sls Mercedes file installed but cant find any clio_pc file!!- but I still get the clio safety car). Can someone please tell me how I can set up the Mercedes as the default safety car for all single players or what I might be doing wrong? - surely there must be an easy way to install the SLS and tell what car your RF2 is using as the safety?! P.S Tim please please can you introduce an in game option so you can tell easily what safety car your defaulting to and lets you select a different one(maybe on the in game menu)!
How are you running your offline races, do you use vmods (self made or downloaded) or do you use 'All Cars & Tracks' option in series selection to organise stuff? If you go the vmod way then you do what DJC said in post #8 (watch the vid in post #15 if not sure), if you use 'All Cars & Tracks' then do what I said in post #10. Don't bother uninstalling or worse deleting the Clio Pace car as that won't help.
I'm going to make this post then go create an all ISI content (Tracks and Cars) vmod just to show how little time it takes to make one. The time between my posts will show how fast this can be done. On you marks... Get set... Green! Green! Green!
