Posting here now to keep things organized.

Important: As rim type and tire manufacturer are only selectable on .veh files, the virtual rides only can use the ones we already have, so yes, you'll have Bridgestone stickers while using Michelin tires! (Indy F1 2005 anyone? lol) ...or one of the others found on default cars.

    HOW TO INSTALL
Extract the .zip file anywhere you want, and copy the UserData folder provided to your rFactor2 root.

    Pennzoil NISMO GT-R #1 (JGTC 1999) 22.3Mb

*This package contains 2 virtual rides. One with current SuperGT stickers and the other with the classic ones.

Yep, some teams used Michelin tire in 2013 and had Bridgestone sticker on their cars.

These Skins look amazing , Thanks .
I was a bit surprised to find this mod only have 5 skins . For a paid mod i expected more .
Well at least this one has a preview pic :)
What are virtual rides ? and what am i supposed to do with them ? Does it change the physics ?
Please excuse my ignorance but someone mentioned some skins i added may have changed the physics , so hence my question .

Virtual rides are a "halfway solution" ISI found some time ago in order for people to use custom skins without having to mess with the confusing package system (there's no practical way to create a package just to add skins to a mod). Ethone explained briefly here: https://forum.studio-397.com/index.php?threads/egt-px-skinpack-lm-wec-uscc-misc-update.50014/

But, to sum it up, it just adds a "duplicate" of one of the cars that come with the mod, and uses the new skin. No physics altered. You REALLY just override the skins. That's one of the reasons, for example, that I can't adjust the vehicle file to opt for black rims with Bridgestone tires, as used on these Pennzoil cars, and had to stick with the black rims and Michelin tires found on the original #23 that comes with the mod.

Oh, and regarding "what to do with them":

I'll point Ales to your question regarding the rims. I can't really answer that.
Don't want to say something wrong either but might be that there is something regarding the rim blur etc but as said not sure.
Not a gfx guy. I am sure Ales can tell.

My guess would be they contracted with Michelin, and thus were obligated to wear the stickers. But Bridgestone, being a Japanese company, may have offered a better deal or better tire. Just suppositions

I imagined so. Honestly, for me, dealing with the Genstring line on .veh files is OK. The issue here is how complicated is to deal with them in rF2. Maybe if Studio-397 just enable more .veh lines overrides inside the virtual ride's .rcd would solve a few problems. But I'm hopeful they have an even better solution in mind.

Some teams (3 or 4) where using Micheline tire, some Yokohama, one team used Dunlop and all other Bridgestone. But ALL teams had the Bridgestone sticker on their cars...

Ahh, then it is the LEAGUE that has a contract with Bridgestone. All cars must carry certain stickers based upon league ties to certain brands or manufacturers. Money talks.
