I have heard that Sim-Ple was put on hold. Is that accurate?
At least Ollie does not have this option listed on web site.

 

This is frustrating. I've been on pre-order since the first week of August yet I haven't gotten any recent emails sent to me when others have and I don't know who to talk to as there isn't any reply whenever I've emailed SIM-plicity/Ollie in the past month or two.

If email doesn't work then I don't know what to do other than posting here.

Has anyone here received an actual personal email from Ollie lately?

Hey Spinelli have you considered building your own, even with Ollies kit you still have to know what your doing, there's a few people that have let the smoke out of theirs, and now you can get the MIGI with 5K encoder.




Got some great news for all existing and future OSW DD owners , Mige now offer the small & large motors with 5000PPR encoders at no additional cost when purchasing a new unit !!!!

I remember people here mentioning some iRacing threads a few months back. Does anyone know if Ollie himself posts in there? I don't care if I need to wait another 4 months, I just need to know that I'm on order.

P.S. I just signed up for pre-order on the SIM-plicity website with a different email adress and it said the order would be ready by around Jan 10 or so (the website itself states December). So I'm assuming my real order should be ready quite soon since I've been signed up since early August.....This is weird.

Has anyone here actually recieved a kit from Ollie? I'm starting to feel a little uneasy about sending him money when he actually does reply...

 

I put together a wheel for someone who ordered the Kit from Ollie. All the parts were good, new and no issues with the assembly. Like you, I know he had some issues with the simplicity board and had to scramble to give people options. I can't imagine that could have been easy for him to quickly get enough bits to satisfy all the orders.

He paid sometime July and it was shipped in early september. That would have been from his first batch.

Confuses me why I never recieved an email about the delays and new pricing that some others have gotten, let alone the fact he hasn't replied any emails from me since late july to mid August when we each exchanged 4 or 5 emails to eachother.

 

Spinelli, did you pay for the kit already? Web site gives no option for payment, just says your order will be shipped bla-bla-bla when clicking on Order.

 

No I haven't. From what Ollie and others told me, you pay when it's ready to be shipped. I guess he then sends it out once he recieves payment.

Have you managed to get a hold of him?...

 

No, I haven't, exploring other options at the moment.

I just change these two lines.

"Steering torque capability":20.5,
"Steering torque capability#":"The maximum torque capability of the wheel (in Nm, obviously)

 

Could you elaborate what you mean for "accurate FFB"?

Anyway my controller.json is default except for:
Steering effects strength = -10000,
Steering Torque minimum = 0
Steering Torque capability = 22 (MIGE "little" motor)
Steering torque sensitivity = 0.272 (this is "Paul Loatman setting", I like it very much, but your mileage may vary)

Then Car specific FFB multiplier should be adjusted per car at your likes, i.e URD T5 could be very low (I am at 50%!), Skippy at 85%, etc.

Very important is to adjust the various parameters in the MMOs control panel.

Basically I strongly advise to create a profile for each car you use in rF2, mainly because the steering range in the MMOs panel must be adjusted PER car (i.e. URD T5 has 407° and, in order to have the correct steering input you should set 407° in the MMOs control panel).
Then I also add some Friction, Damping, Inertia in the "Effect" section. These effects also are customized per car.

Regarding to the not "accurate FFB".
This doesn't seem to be a problem of lag or inverted forces.
The problem is that they don't feel good with the FFB.
I'm going to tell them the sugested changes. And if they still are not happy with the FFB, i'll try to know where the problem is comming from.

I think I've had the delivery from Ollie ( had PayPal request last week )
But I was out so its at the Royal Mail collection office

This is for my pal ( who's on holiday at the moment ) so no rush
I'm sure it will prove to be worth the wait for him
( I've had no corrspondance with Ollie apart from the payment invoice etc, think he gets 100's of emails )



Ps remember the AF is not a servo system

Spin if your finding waiting frustrating then do consider ordering the parts independently
Many have & are happy with their kit

Pps I cancelled mine a while ago (although will help my pal with his) as I'm very happy with my bodnar + less time now & I need to spend some spare time altering my rig (to a more formula seating position ) & finishing a few more steering wheels I started + stalking for a girlfriend

 

You forgot to say that the A/F is not industrial grade....
