Here is my Momo MOD78 330mm mounted to my G27. I made the hub adapter out of a cutting board that I picked up at Walmart. I traced out a shape, marked where I needed the mounting holes and hold for the buttons. Then first I drilled the holds and once the holds were done I cut the shape out with a bandsaw. I then used a router around the edge to make it smooth. Once it was all done I sprayed it flat black and surprisingly this paint has stayed perfect even after about 3 years. Also notice I was able to preserve the original LED rev lights. Here is the left over cutting board:
Nice , for the past few week I being looking to buy a Momo or Sparco 310/320 **** they are a crazy price for the bare wheel all I wanted to do is mod it to the way I would like something like Noel Hibbard wheel , but I'm reluctant to pay 200 bucks for a wheel frame covered in Suede , but I really like the Momo , so I'm looking to spend more money for the full works from fanatec--- ( ClubSport Steering Wheel GT EU ) ---, problem is I hope it can connect to PC - USB or to my fanatec pedals , see I don't have fanatec base I use t500 . Anybody here know can you get your fanatec wheel via USB to PC or pedals to function , I plan on using Derek spears adopter to connect to my own . Edit , sorted.
I have been waiting for the accuforce wheel, in the meantime I need to figure out what rim to go with. Saw this at the end of last week at the iracing forums. He is going to sell diy kits for this rim, fully machined from solid aluminium, included paddles faceplate etc but it's diy because you do the button layout and wiring. It should bring the cost down a heck of a lot compared to buying one of these custom made from one of the few guys that do it. At the moment just holding out for final pricing but I reckon some buttons and a sli-pro will fit it out nicely. he hasn't got them on his website yet and as far as I know has only shown people on iracing so thought it may be of interest here. Still have to wire this one up GT and rally wheel just a stock mod 78 350mm stock g27 for the vintage OW'ers and the skip All wheels hook into an NRG slim release tied to an 08 civic steering column (tilt and telescoping!) to a t500
I would assume after market wheels are much heavier than the usual plastic ones. How does the ffb feel after installing the aftermarket?
My wheel is actually pretty light. The ffb fells great, depending on witch racing game I use I have to turn the ffb down a notch or 2.
The MOD78 is light but the biggest impact on the FFB is the increased diameter. It isn't as strong as before but the extra size is worth it IMO. I also accept the fact that toy FFB wheels aren't going to have the force of a real wheel so I typically run very low FFB levels to avoid clipping anyways.
Does any1 know if there is a wheel mod for the FANATEC CSW ??????? As i would like to put my own rim on, as FANATEC are not releasing rims like they said they would ant time soon.
