    Hello guys :)

Personally I like to drive the cars as realistic as possible, using the correct shifter type for each car.
I know people asked before on this Forum as well for a list or something but with no helpful response.

I don't understand why there is no information about things like that (not only in rF2).
The only way to find out is to get in the car and look what the animated driver does (I did this for raceroom with a big list, tooked me days).

Same thing with the clutch, no information anywhere.
    It's a little bit frustrating. ;(
    ________________________________________________________________________________________

What I would like to see is an implementation in the upcoming Userinterface for each car like:

    Sequential | Paddle | H-Pattern
    Clutch | No Clutch

And if connected you can only use correct Shifter type and use a Clutch or not like with the real car.

    ________________________________________________________________________________________

    Just a few Ideas :)

    Best Regards,
    HomieFFM

You can map separate keys for paddles and seq. stick even now

Ok thank you, didn't know that, I changed it :D

I liked this feature in AC content manager. Had separate profiles for paddles, stick and H-shifter and the choosen car worked only with the assigned profile

That would be a nice feature, but you still have to find out what the car is using in reality... so I would already be happy with a short written information about the cars.
I mean they create all the cars from scratch and have to deal with all kind of data, why not list those basic things like shifter and clutch type xD

Did you know some Ford GT40 have H-shifters that are sequential? So you can't skip from 4th to 2nd without going through 3rd. Yes, you have to dig around for info like that.

didn't know about that :) imagine they would implement that... or at least if they would give us those informations. ;(
    there is so much potential

The Reiza cars tell you what transmission they have, in the notes section in the setup menu I believe.
But I really would like it if you could only use the shifter the real car uses, if you have a manual, sequential and semi-automatic connected. I also have Content Manager set up in a way that every car uses the correct shifter. Maybe the new interface using HTML means there can be an alternative launcher for rF2 that adds features the sim is missing.

Having a properly working clutch in rF2 hopefully is really high in the todo list.

This is something pC2 and AC gets right, in pC2 you select real or something (it's been over a year since I played) and you can't change or there is a delay if you change using the wrong method. Also the hands move in game in the appropriate manner so it's easy to see what is the correct way to change.

and I hope they would properly simulate the H-shifter gearbox. (analyze clutch ....)

That's weird. You would have thought a dog box would be enough.

    Fun fact, either way!

I second this request, having a G27 I can accomodate how I shift with the proper equipment, but knowing what I should do is the hardest part: Paddles or Shifter is quite easy having Track IR and looking around in the cockpit, but then things get complex with sequential or H pattern, and finally with clutch, I think that if paddles are involved clutch is not required, but what about sequential shifter? Am I supposed to use clutch ?

Only to get yourself off the line. Although V8 Supercar drivers use the clutch on the way down with their sequential boxes as there's no autoblip:

I have a program that extracts this information from rFactor's data files with some accuracy. Unfortunately it can't work on encrypted files so much of S397's cars are not included. And sometimes it says Paddles as the default. And AFAIK there's no way to differentiate Paddles vs. Sequential. Anyway, here is what it says about the cars I have installed.

Sorry to say that but just learn to use google and you will find out yourself which transmission type the car has. There are a lot of other more important things to do in rF2

    about H shifter
if, and when they will be on the market, and above all within the reach of all users, hardware peripherals able to return the same feedback of a real "manual change" ...., and yes ...... it will be a nice step forward in the simulation! as far as I know (correct me if I'm wrong) there is not yet a hardware component that, when you fail the gear engagement, the lever vibrates, and then returns to neutral.
this attempt at emulation in software mode, which we find today in some simulators, only gives me the feeling that my device is not working well; and this totally ruins my immersion.:(
I hope that some hardware manufacturer sooner or later, create an H shifter device with FFB:D

Yeah I know it's possible to use google, but is that what you want before driving a car? looking into google and search for informations?
I agree there are more important things, but maybe there is a ''easy'' way to implement these informations from the producers.
And as you can see, I'm not alone with this request.

The different Cars are there, the different Shifter, Clutch types are there, the hardware is there....
why not use all this just because the implementation/information is missing?
