I was doing a few laps of Malaysia just a few days ago for the first time in a long time. A track I really like.

This is looking really good.

Look forward to seeing more progress.

:)

Don't forget to crank up humidity and air pollution, to give it that 'sweaty feel' that it needs :-D

And... could this receive the same treatment that the 75 F1 cars received from S397?

ie. community update adopted in-game? Since you have been a contracted 3D artist already, in the past, surely your work is trusted...

The original track is from ISI, i.e. the rF2 game. I read that it's OK to use the track without permission from ISI/Studio397. A team member from the forum wrote it under a topic.

What do you mean by 'the treatment that the 75 F1 cars received from S397'? I don't have any information about that. Could you please explain?

Not 1975, but 75/76 cars, which received a gfx uplift, done by a community member (can't remember who).

Instead of just letting rFactor 2's content left unattended, the S397 could recreate more than one variations of the the 3PA content.
As a modding platform, it would be fitting that the older 3PA content could be updated by the community in-game.

Another good example is the new/updated version of Palm Springs (Miami-Homestead) which James Mabe has in the workshop and that, again as Palm Springs, should be 'Base-Game' (with a Miami-Homestead skin in the workshop for non-official use).

The 75/76 cars are S397's own production, so that might have played a role, but even if we accept limitations that may be outside our access, not adding icons for ISI cars, to the very least, seems incredibly difficult to understand.

Looks amazing, great work.

Me & DJC tried contacting S397 for similar idea (as we also saw how they accepted F1 75 update) before we released the updated "Brianza Historic Edition" a few years ago, as it would be nice to have an updated official version which more people can enjoy it. One staff told us that it could be possible, but ultimately there was nothing happened after a long while (no one had contacted us since). In the end we decided to not wait another year so the community can run races..... (may be just unlucky)

Fantastic news. Lack of action is not worrying as I believe we can trigger this to happen across the board, on all older content.

Don`t mean to take this thread more OT but I`d love to see the historic cars and tracks (that have not been done) get the updates/graphics done.

The Eve`s & Sparks. Maybe the Brabham BT20 etc...

When was the Brabham BT44 updated? o_O And who did it?

The situation is probably a little more complicated for some of the old ISI cars.

As many old players knew, all orginal ISI content were not encrypted, which also gave many modders a chance to study the mods for many years.

However this has been changed, as some of those cars, such as EVE, had been encrypted by 397 a few years ago when they updated them with new car icons (may be also related to the new online service).

As a consequence, modders won't be able to unpack the new mas file (not in any normal ways) from those old content that ISI created. So this literally blocks the chance for community modder to work on updates for those old content.
