It's to do with the engine exhaust blur/bubble, but I also can't remember further.

It has been solved by changing from 30 to 0 this parameter of the player.json
"Heat Fx Fade Speed": 0
This can't be a final solution, i want to see heat effects, just don't want them bugged!
This is a workaroud to avoid the bug.
I wold like to see it also.

IIRC there was a similar bug in rf1 which could be solved by disabling super-sampling antialiasing via the Nvidia control panel.
I remember a thread about it at nogripracing a long time ago
if it can be useful to you, I only see it in replays.

BTW the workaround seems to have resolved it for the short term.
Just reporting the same issue, blue halo's, only in VR. Heat FX workaround 'solves' it for me.
Tatus cars have this also !
I agree with 2ndLastJedi. I wasn't showing with the Tatuus's until the last update. Tatuus's are the only car I've seen with this lately.
Marussia MR01 has it now as well. See it in VMR.
Same problem here.
there is a line in the player(?) .json that controls the heat wave effects. Set that to false. This is a known bug with many cars. I've seen a very very translucent circle behind the new GPL era cars.
