    Am driving the Marussia and seeing the right side mirror itself within the right side mirror. Not a problem with the left side mirror.

    Does anyone know what I can do to eliminate the right side mirror (which blocks my view of oncoming cars on the right hand side of the car).

    It looks normal for me, i don't see the mirror in the mirror, on the right side.
    Can you post a screenshot?

    Open your player.json file with a text editor, that is located in the folder
    ..\Steam\steamapps\common\rFactor 2\UserData\player
    and search for the line
    Self In Rearview
    There are 2 lines, where the second line is only the explanation of what the entry is doing.
    Please post the whole first line.

    I don't think many cars have their mirrors set correctly for the self in rear view option to work.

    it used to work on FISI 2012 (and on F1 2013 as a consequence) but recently it broke. I am talking about "self in rearview": "*".

    Just thought I'd share what rF2 engine is capable of:

    Stock Car Resurrection series. Note how car and driver are rendered correctly in the mirror. Didn't test in VR yet, but seems like it is content issue, not engine

    The mirror position just needs to be set in the right spot, and for 99% of cars, it's not.

    Have a look in the "all_vehicles.ini" found in \Steam\steamapps\common\rFactor 2\UserData\player
    Find your vehicle (Ctrl + F search Marussia)

    This the default mirror settings, see if any of your numbers are way out of the range. Especially between left and right mirrors.
    RearviewSize=(-10.000,-10.000)
    Mirror=(10.000,10.000)
    MirrorPhysical=(0.000,0.000,0.000)
    MirrorLeft=(0.000,0.000,1.000)
    MirrorCenter=(0.000,0.000,1.000)
    MirrorRight=(0.000,0.000,1.000)

    Hmmm, that's strange.
    The below screenshot shows what i see, when i set * for self in rearview.
    Do you have set the mirrors to extreme values?
    You could try this:
    Before you start the game, rename the file all_vehicles.ini (in the same folder with the player.json file), that you have it as a backup.
    Then start the game, to get a fresh one.
    Does that solve the problem?

    If you haven't already, remove or rename your Player.json
    Start game and hopefully you can tag this thread Solved.

    Just to try if it changes something, before you start the game, edit the entry in the player.json file from
    "Self In Rearview":"*",
    to
    "Self In Rearview":"",
    With that setting, the mirror should be gone, but all other parts of your car too.
    If the mirror is gone then, do what @ADSTA has said (rename player.json).
    And if that don't solves it, rename the whole userdata folder before you start the game, that a fresh one gets created with fresh files.
    That should normally solve the problem.
    BTW You do use the unedited marussia, right?
    Or do you use a modified version maybe?

    Thanks Bernd, I will try it when I get home.

    I am using the F12013 skin mod for Marussia (where they replicated the Marussia car and created skins for every real F1 team of the 2013 season), but the problem exists for both the skin mods, as well as the original Marussia.

    Resetting player and vehicle files got it for me.
