Safety Car

I wanted to check if the safety car in rFactor 2 can be made more sensitive. Specifically, can it be set to deploy when a car collides with another car? I've tried adjusting the safety car settings, but it only seems to come out when cars are stuck on the track. Is there a way to make it respond to collisions? This is for an F1/F2/F3 League. Thanks.

...did you adjust these 4 settings in the respective rfm file...?

// Safety car threshold multipliers, in other words an adjustment for the sensitivity of the game to calling
// full-course cautions. These can be different for road vs. oval courses. Lower numbers result in more
// full-course cautions
; default=1.0, possible values are 0.01 (very sensitive) and up. Values more than
// 5.0 will probably result in no full-course cautions being called by the game (note that there are now
// multiplayer admin commands to call cautions).
SafetyCarRoadMult=0.6
SafetyCarOvalMult=0.2

and

// Whether full-course cautions may be called for a spin more than 90 degrees where the driver keeps going.
// These can be different for road vs. oval courses. Higher values will result in more full-course cautions
// due to these temporary spins; default=0.0, possible values are 0.0-2.0.
SpinRoadSeverity=0.15
SpinOvalSeverity=0.3

..for me it is in server installation \rfactor2-dedicated\Installed\rFm ...you have to extract the rfm-file of the specific mas-file to somewhere, then you can edit the files from above in that rfm-file. After editing and saving it you have to insert it back (drag and drop) and create the mas-file again (with yellow button in menu).

Hi @Lars,

I reduced the below so the safety car will be more sensitive

SafetyCarRoadMult=0.2
SafetyCarOvalMult=0.2

and increased this to be more sensitive:

SpinRoadSeverity=1.50
SpinOvalSeverity=1.50

What does Spin Road Severity actually do? Thanks

..i've got no experiences changing these values so far...just the description above, never figured it out and never spot any experience reports from someone else..

will try soon by myself out of sheer curiosity:-)

probably your adjustments should help, so apparently trial and error ist required here :-)

good luck Matthew!
