Wow! It is looking great so far! LilSki has an amazing base, and I'm really happy that he was able to give permission for the conversion. Really looking forward to the release! Keep up the great work!

I am glad to see so many people are excited as much as I am for RIR. It was the first racing venue I ever attended and where my love of Motorsports started. Like LilSki stated in his description that I quoted this is roughly based off the 1988 version.
On that site it would be the track layout 69-88

This is fantastic news! One of the best tracks in rF1. I had so much fun with muscle cars and '65 F1 cars around here!

    Can't wait!

PS The track is looking really really good already! How much stuff is left to complete?

No offense to any other modders who built or converted a version of RIR in the past but this one will drive completely different. Not saying it will be better or worse but different. The only one that comes close to this would be Ginetto's scatch built version for GPL. Everything else was crazy inaccurate.

For those who have no seen it here is a recent video of it in AC. Should give you a good idea what to expect from rF2.

Great stuff! That video does look a bit different in places, but I still recognise the layout. Can't wait to give it a go in the 60s cars!

@Mauro That one looks like the rF1 version with the tyres of death!

@toebee Will you include a version with the 'tyres of death'?

I found a really old video I made. You can't enter the final turn with much more style than this!!!
    (Those glorious rF1 graphics tho!!! :D )

After 69 when the dogleg and T9, and T1 got reconfigured the tires were pretty much on the way out. They were there for a few years but by the mid 70s only a few corners had some remains of the original tires. By 1980 all the tires were gone and the small curbs were put in place.

To be 100% correct and have all the "tires of death", T9 and T1 would have to be the pre 69 configuration and many of the track side objects would have to change. Such as the goodyear tower would be on the front straight, no suites on front straight, the T6 grandstands would have to be smaller, 80's era RVs would have to be changed to 60's era cars, etc. It is basically a total remodel of the circuit. I prefer the curbs rather than the tires myself.

Best of luck to toebee getting that great track into the game. If it can look 85% as good as it does in AC, it's a victory.
